A delightful country B and B about 3 miles from Hereford. A lovely room with a terrific garden view. Our hosts were warm and friendly. The breakfast was extremely nice and included fresh baked bread. A unique experience that we both enjoyed very much. The house is a bit off the beaten track and we had a hard time finding it but, when we did it was well worth it. We know signage is being worked on, so don't let that put you off. All in all we had a great experience and would heartily recommend The Steppes.

"Short break."
Friendly and efficient staff, decent room although like a previous reviewer, I did find there was quite a lot of traffic noise from the nearby main road. Perfectly adequate facilities, although the shower was a trifle cramped. Good breakfast, and quite a choice of food during the evening from standard menu and specials board.

"Helpful and friendly owners"
Owners went out of their way to look after us - allowed us to check in early and cooked for us in the evening even after they would usually have finished in the kitchen. Very friendly and helpful. Rooms comfortable - but NB they vary in size quite a bit. Good value for money.

"Peaceful Country Hotel."
Situated in the beautiful Herefordshire countryside I had a peaceful, restful stay in this friendly hotel. The rooms were very clean and the full breakfast was delcious with locally grown mushrooms and free range eggs laid by the owners' hens. The landlady was extremely friendly and accomodating and went out of her way to help. The hotel is ideal for walkers who want to explore the countryside however it is necessary to have your own transport as it is a little isolated. I spent a thoroughly enjoyable few days at the hotel and would return. Location and Things to Do. (Am having problems writing in that box). The hotel is situated about 2 miles from the small village of Weobly and the nearest shops and restaurants. It is surrounded by farmland and ideal for walkers. The county town of Hereford, The Malverns, Ross on Wye and other areas of interest are easily accessible by car. There is much to do and often many activities for all the family taking place in these towns and surrounding areas. It is possible to get a bus from Weobly to Hereford except on Sundays and Bank Holidays and the last returning bus is at about 5 30 so a car is a necessity,

    Pocket Guide: Herefordshire Hereford Hotels

The cathedral city of Hereford has a beautifully scenic location on the River Wye and is only 16 miles from the Welsh border. The city and surrounding area are full of interesting attractions for visitors, and there are many different accommodation options available to suit a variety of tastes and budgets. With colourful festivals, great food and plenty of attractions for all ages, Hereford makes a brilliant destination, whether you’re here for business or pleasure.

    Historic Attractions in Hereford

Hereford has the tranquil atmosphere of a traditional market town, but is as rich in historic treasures as anywhere in the UK. Whether you opt to stay in family-run B&B accommodation or a five star hotel, you’ll have easy access to world-class attractions such as Hereford Cathedral. This imposing medieval structure hosts the oldest music festival in the world every three years, and is home to two of the biggest chained libraries in the world. The world-famous Mappa Mundi, one of the oldest maps in existence, is also housed here, and there’s a good restaurant nearby in All Saints Church

    Hereford Museums

Hereford is a fascinating city if you like museums, and when based at a small guesthouse or one of the smart hotels in the city, you’ll easily be able to reach the likes of the Hereford Museum and Art Gallery or the equally interesting Cider Museum on foot. In the centre of Hereford you’ll find the Old House, a great Tudor-period edifice constructed from oak beams and still in remarkably good condition after centuries of continual use.

Fine Wining and Dining in Hereford

Hereford is famous for its high quality food, which has always played an important role in the city’s identity and is the core of many local businesses. The soil around the city is rich and fertile and the climate of the region benign, so cider, hops, sheep and cattle are its main produce. Vineyards are also beginning to make an appearance.

Hereford has become not only a gourmet’s paradise, but has one of the loveliest landscapes in the UK, all practically on the doorstep of your hotel or B&B.
