Great night.
Found the staff friendly and welcoming. room was clean and with everything we required. A very comfortable bed, for a good night sleep, and a nice breakfast. Could not have asked for more.

The lovely Sofia
Family run style hotel with lovely staff, clean and comfy beds. I stayed for 12 days and enjoyed it. Would thoroughly recommend it!

Definitely an older hotel. The walls are very thin and people were out from midnight to 3am making noise. It is definitely close to the airport though so that was nice and when our transfer didn’t show the morning manager was extremely helpful and accommodating to get a taxi and made it a point to keep checking on us. The woman checking us in was also very sweet. Just very outdated, a sheet was provided but a very thin comforter so I was cold. The area was just ok but walking distance to a few things to eat.

An excellent base
The Sofia is exceptional value for money for an hotel in close proximity to the airport. It ticks all the boxes and is still as good as my last stay in 2014

Very helpful fellow at the front desk. He ordered a taxi for our early morning departure, and it was there in 5 minutes. Nice to have the 24 hour front desk service for airline travel. Our host also kindly ordered a delicious gyros meal for us the night before. Very friendly and accomodating.

Basic accommodations. Room had an awful smell. Needed a hotel close to port to catch an early ferry. The lobby looks nice but the room was quite basic and did not feel clean.

Convenient to airport, with pool!
Stayed here just one night before flying out of Heraklion airport, which is about 3 minutes drive from Sofia Hotel. The property is nice, and even though we didn't have time to use it, the pool looked very inviting. There are snack bar & breakfast options, but we didn't try them. I must've accidentally booked us a triple, or else something got lost in translation, because we ended up with extra beds but the room looked like it was built for 1 (or 2 twins), so it was crowded in there, but it was fine for the night. We slept in the one which looked like it had been brought in as extra, because the usual one was extremely hard without any padding. Other than that, no complaints, and definitely a good spot for an overnight coming into or out of the airport in Heraklion.

Property was fine for our purposes- wanted to see some sights in Heraklion and wanted location close to Ferry port to return rental car there and catch morning ferry. Onsite parking was helpful. I also chose because of laundry facilities- which is send out- because we were leaving early, I drove to their laundry service and left large bag of clothes and then retrieved that evening after sightseeing.

It was very near the airport. The hotel was very clean and safe and we were very happy with the accommodations. The only bad thing was that the lady behind the front desk misinformed us. We asked about breakfast when we checked in and she told us that breakfast was not included and that the restaurant was closed. As we were checking out, we noticed that the restaurant was not only open but had a fabulous buffet for a reasonable price. We missed it because of her.
