An unusual setup where a small number of rooms (8 I think) are available in a management/course centre adjacent to the golf clubhouse. Our experience was spoilt as our room did not have an ensuite bathroom. Instead a private locked bathroom was available just along the corridor. This may be fine if you are lucky enough to be able to sleep all night through without needing to use the bathroom, otherwise you are likely to disturb other guests by unlocking/locking the bedroom and bathroom doors in the middle of the night. The room and bathroom were both very clean and well stocked with all you need for a short stay.
The surroundings were fabulous with breakfast served in the clubhouse next door overlooking the fountain and golf course. The staff (in particular the very friendly and helpful man who was waiting in the clubhouse for our late arrival at 9pm) were excellent both in the clubhouse bar restaurant and in the golf pro-shop. I enjoyed a good round of golf on the very forgiving and well kept course. Buggies and even electric trolleys were available for hire.
I would recommend this place to others due to the value for money and friendly staff but I would strongly suggest arriving early when the clubhouse is open and in daylight hours.
Located essentially between Reading and Oxford. Excellent if you have a rented car and can drive around. Also attached is a local restaurant and pub with pleasant staff. The availabilty of Wi-Fi was a little challenging especially when in my room otherwise everything was just right.

Staff service was excellent
offered choice of rooms on arrival
Original building c. 1600, so lots of oak beams etc on show.
Lovely finishes: timber veneer wardrobe, antique furniture, marble shelf in bathroom
we had a room overlooking the river, so lots to see including rowers preparing for the regattas.
Henley is justifiably famous for its annual Royal Regatta at the end of June, the biggest and best-known rowing competition in Britain, which takes place between Henley Bridge and Temple Island. It also holds a black tie music festival in July, and the 80s music festival Rewind in August. For the rest of the year it is a quiet riverside town dotted with quaint pubs and pricey boutiques.
