"Ask for a quiet inside room"
The reason why you ask for an inside room in NYC is because the outside rooms are very noisy. The Big Apple never sleeps, garbage collections, horns honking, and even jack hammering at @11 pm. I'm not kidding, we were just settling down for the night in our first day of arrival, then BANG, drilling. I called downstairs to ask how long this would be going on, she replied " about 4 hours", doesn't NYC have a bylaw about construction at night? The reception offered to send me earplugs, which I declined, but had to call them again and asked them to send them up, plus I asked them to change my room to the quiet side. We were booked for 5 days, and I didn't want to take a chance. The next morning, the reception told us to pack our suitcases, and when someone checked out, they would move all our belongings. No problem. That was the only negative about the hotel. Now, the plus is... there is a coffee /tea station 24/7, in the Club room which is spacious. Monday- Thursday they have apples and granola bars. After 10 or 11am, they switch to banana chips and snacks and biscotti's. They also have a water station on certain floors with empty bottles where you can fill up anytime. They have guest closets out side your room where there is an iron board and an iron, sometimes blankets or pillow. The rooms are a good size, fairly square room, limited closet, little drawer space. The bathroom is clean with shower stall and toilet. When in NYC we would stay here again.
