I loved Rivoli Jardin, I found the staff super helpful and it had a personal touch. We arrived on the overnight train from Rovaniemi and appreciated being able to check in early. The position was also very convenient, close to the harbour and many restaurants, as well as trams.

Perfect Affordable Hotel & FREE Amazing Breakfast
I was surprised at how lovely this hotel room was for such an affordable price. I was traveling with my 8 year old child so we had a room with two twin beds. Cute and Nordic modern style and beds were comfortable. When we first arrived, directly from the airport, the staff was friendly and welcoming. After we settled in, we came back to the lobby/dining area which has a small bar and dining area (used for the breakfast buffet). We had this space to ourselves and the Front Desk Clerk served us wine and hot chocolate (our reservation included a $$ off coupon for 2 beverages). So nice after a 10+ hour flight to have a drink in a quiet space steps from the elevator. Breakfast was a wonderful introduction to local foods and much better than standard "free breakfast" at many US hotels. besides standard hot foods and waffle iron, there were salmon and herring options, fresh veggies and fruit, pastries, traditional Finnish dishes, and bakery style artisan and brown breads. You could eat tons and still feel healthy! Definitely would stay again.

Walking distance to tourist area, rooms were fine for the two of us, plenty of water pressure and hot water. You can literally drink cold water from the tap. Breakfast was good.

It is a small hotel in a courtyard off a street in walking distance from the Esplanade and central train station. The buffet breakfast was bountiful and varied. Our room was small with a disappointing view of the roof over the breakfast room. They accommodated our requirement for an extension cord very kindly. Cookies and pastries were in the lobby and complimentary in the evening. We brought take-away in for supper and they gladly provided silverware and napkins. One evening we ate out front and another in the breakfast room. I gave it a happy (not thrilled) face because of the price but didn't regret our stay.

This hotel was clean, comfortable, friendly and very well located. The breakfast was very good. The room was small and could have benefited from a fresh coat of paint. The temperature was too warm and we were unable to adjust the thermostat. The staff was friendly and helpful. This was a good value for the price but definitely not luxurious.

A hotel worth looking at for a Helsinki city break
A reasonably priced hotel [for Helsinki] close to the main shopping area and harbour [for excursions etc.] All the main tourist areas are readily accessible. The hotel is described as a boutique hotel and has a few unusual features including the reception run bar. No tea and coffee in the rooms but available in the reception area. Breakfast is quite extensive and reasonable but the breakfast area is quite small.

handy location, excellent breakfast, helpful staff. daylight-see through curtains at 3.50 so a bit sleep starved! Very happy however.

So so good!
This was by far our favorite hotel of our trip (out of like 10 hotels)... the service was incredibly attentive and friendly, true Finlandiers as well which was nice. The room was super cute and quiet, it felt more like a private apartment than a hotel room. We were also very happy with the value as it is right off the Esplanadi, where other hotels were MUCH more expensive. Would definitely come back here if we make it to Helsinki again.

This hotel is really great. The hotel itself (room, building) is rustic and quaint. Its not a sleek, modern hotel. But its very clean, comfortable and quite. The breakfast was decent. The wifi connection was good. The location was perfect. Accessible to all of the major sites in the city. The rooms were comfortable, clean and quiet. But the best part about this hotel was the staff. All of the staff were super polite and friendly. They also were very knowledgeable and provided good advise regarding sightseeing, restaurants, transportation, etc.

Small room and shower
I felt that since I booked through hotels.com that I was treated by one front desk staff as if I was someone to ignore. The shower in the room was so small that when I washed my hair my elbows would push open the shower door. Thus, water was all over the bathroom floor. When I went to the front desk to ask for help the woman was not too pleasant. She followed me to my room and had to agree there was a problem with the shower door. Her solution was to give me more towels since the door could not be fixed. The breakfast was good as was the location. I would not stay here again since the room and shower were made for children-size people.

Good location near Central
Staff make you welcome, top marks for cleaning and close to everything, makes this little hotel worth returning to. You can browse antique shops close by or relax in local coffee shops. Short walk to the old trams which will take you right along to Central and Wan Chai.

Very conveniently situated, good hotel
The staff were excellent here, and the breakfast was very good. It is close to the station, quiet, and would have had a rating of 5 if the room had been a bit more comfortable, with something good to sit on - and if the curtains had closed properly during the short Finnish nights of July to keep out the daylight a little bit better.
