Pros: Keenly priced We were able to check in early Good location just 10-15 mins walk to centre Decent sized room Luggage storage Superb breakfast - better than many 5 star hotels Cons: WiFi constantly dropped out No kettle in room, but you could spend €3 for a pitiful tea or coffee in reception - this is just penny pinching Shower gel dispenser was full of water - or maybe just watered down Gym was dreadful - whoever designed it or spent the budget clearly isn’t a gym goer. Bizarre equipment.

Top breakfast!
Excellent value; clean and very comfortable. Breakfast buffet was the best I’ve had (especially the gluten-free range) Only small niggle was that there was no obvious way to make the room dark during the short Finnish night. Didn’t bother me at all, but I can imagine that some people might have found it hard to sleep

Located across the street from a lovely market, adjacent to the water and easy access to transportation plus other great bars, restaurants and Saunas close by. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Can’t wait to stay there again.

Clean, quiet, efficient design, responsive and supportive staff, near Metro. Location good if you know city center. Small room, people who are heavy or who have back problems might have trouble with thin mattresses. Oddly, taxi drivers had trouble with the name (Scandic just means Scandinavian; Hakaniemi is the area of city) Taxi fares: in 60 Euro; out very early 52 Euro.

Very basic hotel. The location is next to one of the loudest streets in Helsinki city center - this means public transportation is literally on your doorstep, but it is not very quiet or peaceful place to stay. City center is a short walk away, there are plenty of shops and restaurants around. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast ok, they had several gf options.

Great location in a wonderful city
The hotel is well located for public transport and is also next to the Scandic Passi which has a nice restaurant/bar attached to it accessed via the Passi’s Conferencing area. The staff were brilliant, very helpful and friendly. My room was clean although the cover on the chair at the desk was stained and in need of a clean. The hotel was basic - no tea/coffee facility in the room & no social space except for some chairs in reception. The decor was a little ‘tired’ & in need of a bit of care but as I was on a business trip spending very little time in my room, this was OK for me. The Passi did have a bar in the hotel & as mentioned above, another close by so this was fine. Would I stay there again? Absolutely - its location, the staff & breakfast all outweigh the minor things above but I do hope a refurb is planned - the property deserves it.

Wonderful location if you want to explore Helsinki. All trams 30 feet from front door, access to just about anything, Hotel a little shabby around the edges but location makes up for it.

Breakfast was very good with many options to choose from,(hot & cold), ham, sausage, boil eggs, bacons, beans, vegetables, oatmeal, cereal, bread, cheese, rice cake,... but fresh fruit ran out early. Staffs are super friendly. Several buses, trams, and metro stop are right in the front of the hotel. It takes about 5 minutes on trams or 15 minutes walk to central train station. The safe in our room was not working. Its battery was all melt out. One of the light bulbs in our bathroom was out. Another one was not working when have it on for sometime. We told the receptionist, but no body fixed it. The AC seems set on one temperature no matter that we manually moved it down several degrees. When the room gets cleaned after guests checked out, they should check for the working condition of the appliances in the room as well. If the hotel offers something in the room, then it should work at a minimum.
