We enjoyed the ease fo walking downtown or into Hyde Park and the Surrey Hills. We also got the train and bus to Bondi. The tram is nearly operational and will add another dimension.

It doesn't look great at present due to the tram works, but when finished will be an asset. Some people might find the night time bustle a bit intimidating, but I felt safe, even at night in Chinatown. It's the same in any city, just being aware .
