This property is right next door to Honl’s Beach, the place where boogie boarding was first invented. Our ocean-view room was fantastic - very comfortable, lovely view, loved having breakfast on the lanai each morning listening to the waves and rue birds. Location is excellent and we had no trouble with finding parking each night when we returned from our day’s activities.

I feel like we really lucked out with the unit we got. We booked through Expedia for the thanksgiving week and got the unit F4. Really nicely decorated by the owners and we had everything we needed. The owners had kept beach chairs, snorkel gear and cooler for our use. We loved being in the hot tub during sunset and hearing the waves crashing from our lanai.

The property was clean with friendly staff. There is a small beach right next to thebresort to watch the sunsets from, and plenty of parking.

This was a very nice place in my opinion. Our room was a little outdated but not bad. It had all we needed to get through the week we spent there. I would definitely recommend staying here, and hope I can return.

The room we had was almost like a little 1 bedroom apartment. It was Amazing. So comfortable and had a balcony with a beautiful ocean view. It has A full kitchen in it so We were able to cook our own food and had a little washer/dryer in it which helped a lot. Would definitely stay here again.

Loved it here! Miss the happy hour and daily room service…I guess it went away because of Covid. Hope it returns! The location is great! Loved our view and the condo was very nice. Will definitely stay here again.

Great Kona condo
Loved this place! Condo was perfect for my husband and me. Lots of space and beach necessities (chairs, umbrella, ice chests, etc.) provided. Great pool and very local vibe. Would definitely come back.

The place is super cute. They decided to change furniture while we were there mid day. Of course we were not in the room at the time. We went from a queen bed to a cal king. Down part about that is the linens Swede not left for the new bed. So at 6pm, the office is closed and we had no linens on this new mattress. We told the office and they basically told us it wasn’t their problem. We revived new linens the next day around 2pm. The tv did not work but we werent too concerned because we did not spend a lot of time in the actual unit itself.

Delay with communication between Expedia and Raintree Vacation Rental. Everything worked out though however site shows checkout at 11am. Management said it changed to 10am. Nice view of ocean from balcony. Fun to watch the surfers. There were four of us with our kids. More comfortable with 3 people but glad for the availability to us. Bedroom is next to elevator and parking and inconsiderate people didn’t mind the quiet hours. Not much sleep. Bedding clean and comfortable. Kitchen fully stocked. Would Stay again if not for the noise. Management kind and available.

The place was great. We had two rooms on opposite sides of the pool and you HAVE to have your key to get in and out of pool area. I hopped the fence a few times. It was very nice and at a fair price. We stayed at the Hyatt on Maui and it was WAY too busy. I have stayed at the Royal Sea Cliff a number of times, but the Kona Reef Resort was a 5 minute walk to restaurants and shopping. Both of our units were ocean front, ground level. I would definitely stay there again.

I like the keyless entry in the condo unit. No worries about misplacing any keys at all. The condo building was huge. We had a little trouble finding our unit when we arrived at night. I wish evening staff are more in tuned to respond more quickly. We had to asked some of the people who were staying there already.

Fabulous stay
This motel exceeded our expectations. We had a beach view outside our sliding glass door to a balcony, and it was a suite so we had a kitchen, living room, in addition to our bedroom and bathroom making the stay very comfortable. I would stay here again in a minute

Nice place
I loved staying right by the ocean. The hideabed was pretty uncomfortable and in NO way be for 2 people. Everything else was great, except for the toilet kept running and the shower dripped but no biggy. Would love to stay there again. Loved being right next to the sandy beach also because it wasn't crowded like the others

Amazing view and location
The condo was beautiful with the most amazing view. Check in was seamlessly easy and the property facilities were well maintained. Condo could use a few more useful kitchen utensils but overall really enjoyable stay

We really liked the location to Kailua-Kona. We could see the beach and the surfers from our lani. We could watch the sunset from the pool and grassy area in front.

Good bang for the buck. Conveniently located. My room was *right* in front of the hot tub, so sitting on my lanai wasn't ideal. Had everything it needed. Have met locals who used to stay there before they moved to Kona and say good things about it.

Really beautiful, relaxing setting, convenient location near local restaurants. The condo was clean and came with all necessary amenities. Very quick response from desk concerning brief wireless outage. Polite service. The bed was very uncomfortable like a giant pillow case stuffed with pillows. I would nevertheless stay again and plan to next year. Mahalo.

Very nice location. Quiet and located on the beach. The condo room was very nice and everything was there, utensils and plates and even a washer and dryer. Great ocean view from our balcony. Very spacious room. The compound has a pool, hot tub and grills. Very nice condo at a great price. Highly recommend.

Older property, very tight on parking, many of the units are situated poorly (no sun, no view, very dark). Not horrible but not a great place if you don't get an ocean view...the pictures online can be misleading.

Walking distance to shops and beaches
Great location. These are apparent with proper living area and kitchen. So a great option if you are travelling with family. Walkable distance to the shopping strip and stores. They have ample free parking at the property.

Great stay for the price and location!
This place is a bit outdated and the pool area could use some love, but you can’t beat the location and the office staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again!

Great hotel, fifteen minutes walk to township
We had such a wonderful stay at the Kona Reef Resort. The room was lovely and spacious, with great views from the enormous balcony. The air-con was superb too, as was the pool area and very helpful front desk staff. Rita was particularly great, as she helped to get some clothing back that we’d accidentally left in the room. I would certainly recommend this fabulous hotel to anyone....we loved it!
