Good Condo, close to Kona with sea views.

Posted 15-Apr-2018
Pros: Close to Kona restaurants, bars and shops; partial sea view and views of pool. Local staff were very helpful; grounds and poll were v=clean and tidy.
Cons: Arriving out of hours, no instructions provided to get into room; Room C21 in need of a deep clean.
Location: Close to Kona restaurants, bars and shops - excellent location of the big island.
Good condo close to (within walking distance) Kona restaurants, bars and shops; partial sea view and views of pool. Pre-arrival instructions could have been e-mailed, which would have been helpful, however had to phone Hawaii from the UK to confirm arrangements. No point leaving a message, as the company does not make international calls. Local staff were very helpful; grounds and pool were kept very tidy and clean. Room was excellent size and had all amenities, whilst tidy and basically clean, the room could do with a deep clean.

Older vibe, right on the water.

Posted 09-Apr-2018
Pros: Location! The view from our oceanfront unit was amazing. Also appreciated the updated kitchen and bathrooms.
Cons: Better lighting in the halls and in the unit. Nicer carpet (I'm sure that's hard to maintain so close to the water though).
Location: Easy walk to shops and restaurants on Ali'i. We walked there at least once a day and loved it.
This place was great overall. The office staff were very friendly and helpful. When we first arrived, I was a little skeptical because the hallway leading to our front door was very dark. There were some dim LED lights that came on with a motion sensor, but I wish there was better permanent lighting. I got used to it though. Our unit, A11, was nicely decorated and looked out on the ocean. This location can't be beat... it was amazing. Although the building feels old, the unit had a nice updated kitchen and updated bathrooms. The second bedroom was tiny, but I suppose that's to be expected. It took a while for me to adjust to being so close to the water... the sound of the waves is really loud and everything feels a little sticky because of the moisture. There was A/C, thankfully, though it was also very loud when running. I get the feeling that different units may have different owners and be set up with varying furniture and perhaps different degrees of upkeep, so your experience may vary. The resort is about a 10-minute walk to shops and restaurants. Oh and there was a parking lot and garage so parking was no problem. Overall we enjoyed our stay a lot.

I would come back again to this resort. The room and staff were good. One complaint that i have is that they should have a procedure if you lock yourself out you dont have to wait 2 and half hours before you go back to your room.

NICE, BUT OLDER CONDOMINIUM.

Pros: We enjoyed our stay, there was a Washer and dryer in our unit, and the rooms were very clean and we enjoyed having our coffee on the Lanai.
Location: We enjoyed Breakfast at HUGGO'S, cocktail hour at the ROYAL KONA, and walks into town.
We enjoyed our 7 day stay, the grounds are lovely, the staff were knowledgeable and very friendly. The huge, heated pool was great, and they have a small hot tub. The condo was well equipped and had a lovely view.

The units are in a great location and the staff was very helpful. They are dated, though, and the floors were very dirty. Had to wear my shoes in the unit to avoid having black on the bottom of my feet. The mattresses also need to be replaced as they are very old.

Hotel close to Kona

Posted 22-Nov-2017
Pros: Swiming Pool, Kitchen, Location
Cons: Everything needs to be improved in this hotel. Bedrooms, Beds, AC, Cleanines.
Location: Location is prefect, center of Kona. Near by lot of things to do. All restraurents are nearby. Market place is nearby. Beach is nearby.
One of the worst experience we had. We booked the hotel considering it's close to Kona and had Kitchen. Based on the available photos we selected this hotel. But as soon as we entered we were completely dis appointed. The hotel was so different than what we saw online pictures. Living room had an old AC, making so much of noise, and bedroom didn't have AC. Someone kept the top windows in bedroom open and it was very hot. Room didn't have enough lights. The building looks to me 50 years old construction with old amenities. I would not recommend to this hotel to save few hundred bugs. I would rather pay some extra and go to better hotel in this big trip such as Hawaii. The only good part we liked about this hotel is Kitchen, all accessories were working and we were able to cook the food for our kid. Overall i would not recommend this hotel if you planning your trip for the first time, to save money you may select it.

No beach access.

The room was outdated. The bed was uncomfortable despite a foam mattress topper they had on it. The floors were dirty and sticky the day we arrived. I would never recommend Kona Reef yo my friends or family. My first time in Hawaii and I was very disappointed.
