It was also ideal having a large NISA store only 3 min drive away and we had several beaches only 5 min drive away with coastal walks. It was also an ideal location for St David’s and Cathedral which were also only a few mins from the property. ##### James P. The property is such a relaxing space to be in, the beds so comfy and beautifully furnished. The only downside was not having a washing machine with a small baby. Only a few short minutes away by car was Whitesands Beach with access to the stunning Pembrokeshire coastal path and just further up the road was the Perinnial Garden Cafe which you can walk to from the property. Our highlight however was swimming in the Blue Lagoon at Abereiddy and dinner at the Gin Kitchen in St Davids. ##### Sally H. Beautifully converted, it was spotlessly clean and incredibly comfortable. Fey and Chris were on hand if we needed them and, despite the variable weather, we were able to explore much of the surrounding area. Would highly recommend the Old Chapel and we very much enjoyed our stay. ##### Verified traveller Stayed 7 nights in Oct 2020 Verified ### 10/10 Excellent #### Jane G. 1 Sept 2020 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### Stay near St David’s We had a lovely holiday at this beautiful converted chapel. It's an old chapel and has been renovated to a very high standard with every comfort for holiday stay. There were four of us and there was plenty of room for all. It's light and airy and has a nice deck at the back that catches the afternoon sun and sunset. It's about a 30 minute walk into St David's, which has plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants. Would recommend St David's Kitchen for a meal. There's also the Cathedral, which is definitely worth a visit. Much better that the pictures suggest. The area in general is beautiful, with the coastal path a must. The views are breathtaking with little coves and beaches at every turn. Whitesand and Newgale beaches are a must. There's plenty to do, particularly for the energetic. We tried coasteering with Dragon Activity Guides and that was fantastic. Would recommend a massage from Fey, who also looks after the cottage for the owners. She lives next door. This is a beautiful part of the country. We went over the bank holiday and had great weather, but it didn't seem too busy. Would highly recommend this cottage and the St David's peninsular for a holiday ##### Colin B. Its perfectly located to visit St Davids and there are many amazing beaches and walks nearby. We walked St Davids head and the coastal path from Aberreidi to Portgain- both amazing walks. The fish and chips at the Shed in Portgain are great too. Having been on holiday in Cornwall many times we most definitely will come back to Wales. We thought it was at least as beautiful and without the crowds! We cant wait to come back and explore more of the coastal path ! Thank you Hazel- we hope to stay at the cottage again soon. I had booked a surprise weekend break for my husband's birthday and this property delivered in every aspect.A peaceful and beautiful location, just over a mile from central St David's. The cottage was beautifully decorated to a very high standard, with excellent quality bedding and linens as well as furniture made to relax in. The property was very well equipped with everything from a hairdryer to dishwasher and every room was spotlessly clean. There was plenty to do in around St David's - cliff jumping in Abereiddy, walks along the coastal path, surfing in Whitesands and plenty more information and ideas in the information book at the property. There are plenty of places to eat out, in and around St David's, again plenty of recommendations in the information book. Thanks also to Fey for meeting us on arrival and to Hazel for opening up her home to guests. Hope to be back soon. ##### LEANNE E. Archival ### 10/10 Excellent 11 Jul 2014 #### Stylish and full of character Just a mile or so from St David's, this very stylish Chapel conversion works extremely well, and is a great base to stay in a popular area. The Old Chapel is comfortable, cosy, and smart - well thought-out, with good facilities for cooking, dining, and chilling out (not sure about the cooker controls, but it all worked!). Great bedrooms and bathrooms, and a sunny patio at the rear. We were delighted to find this retreat and hope to return - highly recommended on all fronts. Archival ### 10/10 Excellent 4 May 2014 #### Fantastic property and location!! I have stayed in this property a number of times, returning because we love it so much. It is a beautiful property, which has been renovated to an excellent standard and is a very special place. It is in a wonderful location, well located for both a number of fabulous beaches, walks and also close to the lovely town of St David's. The property is light, airy, well laid out and very clean, with high quality furnishings, bed linen and towels. The owners are very helpful and I would thoroughly recommend this property. It is one of my favourite places. Archival ### 10/10 Excellent 26 Apr 2014 #### Little Gem.... Wow... we loved this place! The cottage is a little piece of tranquillity set on the stunning Pembrokeshire Coast. On arrival we instantly switched off from the worries and stresses of everyday life - the whole place has a really calming influence on you by the way it's decorated and by the beautiful setting and surroundings. We enjoyed coastal walks and fresh air (as well as a few visits to one of the many lovely local pubs... 'The Sloop Inn' in Porthgain is a must)! With a 4 year old we were concerned that there wouldn't be much in the way of entertainment for him but we needn't have worried - trips to the beach, fish & chips on the sand and a impromptu swim in the Blue Lagoon were enough to put a smile on his face and with all the fresh air it was early nights for him and time for the adults to enjoy a bottle of wine on the outside deck area and watch the sunset... perfect! Archival ### 10/10 Excellent #### Tammy R. 19 Mar 2014 #### Luxury idyllic coastal retreat We hesitated to write a recommendation, because the more people who know how wonderful this property is, the harder it will be for us to book it again. We will be back! Hazel and Paul have done a fantastic job of renovating this amazing coastal retreat. The location is perfect with lovely beaches close by. We were spoilt for choice with lovely restaurants in St David's which is just 5 mins. We enjoyed many coastal path walks which ended in cream teas or a cold glass of wine or beer in the harbour. Our son and daughter enjoyed the surfing at whitesands beach, whilst we lazed in the sunshine. ##### Tammy R. ---
