The staff here are so friendly! Everything was very clean and quiet. The only issue we had was the water pressure in the shower was low.

So disappointed with Nichols Inn. We were there for a hockey tournament and the second night the front desk threatened to call the police on us, the parents! We were sitting in the lobby (they had closed off the breakfast area and said we couldn’t use that area) eating pizza and having some drinks. It was calm, quiet and we were visiting with another team as well. The front desk person said we were loitering, we needed to leave or she’d call the police. They also closed the pool down but our boys were not swimming at the time. This was at 8:40pm!

Great, if you like hard beds.
Room was 85° when we opened the door. Window open in December and adjustment of the temp gauge (which was set at 90°...someone in housekeeping was angry) made it comfortable in short time. My husband hated the hard bed, and I was uncomfortable but slept. Room very clean, but the last Kleenex in the box, so our runny noses took a roll of toilet paper off the roll. Wifi is excellent, but make sure you bring a two prong electrical connection to recharge your portables. Breakfast included was good, including omlet station, perfectly good for cooking scrambled eggs. Review is due to hard beds.

A little run down but clean and staff was friendly
Staff was friendly and the room was clean. It was a little run down. (The caulking in the shower was brown and peeling.) The refrigerator makes a pretty loud buzzing noise. I use earplugs and I was barely in the room. Otherwise, it would have driven me nuts.

Driving in I thought this is from the 1970's, went into lobby and found the furnishings to be from the 1960's. I thought that "this is gonna be bad", Found the room small but clean and redecorated nicely. Enjoyed the small but assorted free breakfast. Overall, I would rate my stay as good to not bad. I would stay here again but they need to kick up the curb appeal if they wish to attract more folks. The Staff I spoke with were Very Nice and talkative that was a Plus.

The staff at Nicolas Inn were all kind, professional, and interested in making our stay a good one. The pool and hot tub area is exceptional! Although it is an older hotel, it has been well-maintained and is very clean. The Continental breakfast is way above average. The only minor glitch is that we could never get the Wi-Fi to work in our room. We will definitely stay here again when we are in Hastings and would highly recommend it.

Great room, great staff, close to lots of restaurants. Great place to stay, only thing that was unpleasant was when i went to use the shower. I pulled the shower curtain closed and found a used wash cloth hanging over the shower curtain.

Decent stay, just need more cleanliness
The hotel overall was fairly nice. The outside is in of a bit of reparations but the desk clerks were always kind and helpful. Breakfast was busy and in a cramped space but had good variety and offerings. Our main issue with the stay was the cleanliness of the room. The shower still had a used wash rag in it when I went to use it as well as several hairs on the surface and walls so I know it had not been cleaned. The room also didn't have a microwave which isn't a deal breaker but would have been more helpful. The rest of the room was fine, although the toilet/shower shared space was very small and was difficult to change in, the rest of our experience was fine.

Nichols Inn
The Nichols Inn was the nicest hotel we stayed in on our three week trip. The office staff were excellent. The room was very nice. We had housekeeping every day which is unheard of. Will stay again when we visit family in the area !

Second time I’ve stayed there. I love the friendly staff, the self service breakfast options, and overall cleanliness. I travel alone and never feel unsafe at Nichols Inn. Pool/hot tub area is a nice perk.
