First given a room with either chocolate or something trodden into the carpet. I then was given another room no towels no lamp no shower gel ect. Only a almost empty liquid soap , toilet had never seen bleach. The unmanned reception had the phone ringing constantly on loud speaker even woken early hours to the phone constantly ringing. Never again. However the restaurant food was absolutely spot on , absolutely brilliant. I'd definitely go back for food but not to stay over.

Overall the stay was good however just a couple of points 1: had to wait at reception although the restaurant was busy; 2: couldn't fill the kettle from the sink had to use the bath; 3: lack of extra pillows only one extra we did ask but non given and 4: coat hangers in the wardrobe Excellent food in the restaurant and all staff were very friendly and polite

Great budget hotel - it was clean and tidy but little things like ripped towels, the heating wasn’t working so we had a fab heater but that was noisy. The cups are thimble size, nice mugs would be better. The bed was clean but not the most comfortable. Great budget stay and perfectly adequate for our needs.

The restaurant was brilliant. Beds comfy. Unfortunately there was black mould on the ceiling. And there was some sort of drainage outside the window so it wasn't the best view and smell. The price was very reasonable though so I guess you get what you pay for.

No spoon with the cups and coffee, Tea bags were not sealed, no toilet paper, TV didn’t work, WiFi was poor. Window didn’t lock. Carpets had holes in. I should have read the reviews first as I only looked at the overall scoring. Would never revisit

Stayed at the windmill on many occasions, room 5 we had and it was absolutely freezing, asked a member of staff when heating would come on he said 5pm and gave us a small heater, the heating didn't come on, most of the night we were freezing and they brought us another heater. We only had 2 bath towels no hand towels so they were wet and couldn't get them dry, took 2 hours for more towels. Only one extra pillow instead of 2 , ya couldn't sit on the toilet comfortably because the toilet paper holder was right next to it on the wall. The curtains didn't match, we couldn't connect to the wifi. As I said Been there about 8 times now and it's really put me off going again.

Cheap and cheerful hotel.
Very basic hotel next to dual carriage way so noisy. Restaurant at hotel was very good (Sambuca chain of restaurants) … but didn’t do breakfasts. Room was cold and central heating not working but the staff quickly brought a heater to my room. Cheap and cheerful hotel.

The Windmill Hotel
Arrived to no receptionist and had to ask in the restaurant. Found out they don’t serve breakfast anymore even though it says in info that it does. The rooms are very tired but clean enough, there were 13 plug sockets so can’t complain about that and there was no milk on the hospitality tray. Evening meal was fantastic but felt a little rushed.

Great restaurant
Excellent vibrant restaurant, staff were very good. Food was excellent with a wide range of steaks, pizzas are fresh made fish dishes surf & turf, muscles & king prawns etc. Really efficient staff I was impressed 👍

Not what i expected
Had to swap kettle it was full of limescale, next to busy restaurant, ideal if you are celebrating there and need to stay over, disabled access through restaurant, other double doors unable to open both, burning wood and things next to car park,looks like they are refurbishing rooms somewhere as it was furniture they were burning. I would say they put efforts unto busy restaurant not into rooms. Had to ask for tea bags, came as tea bags from a large bag.

We were very disappointed with the fact that there was no room service even though we were there for four days. There was no plug in the sink, only one cup and bottle tops under the bed. The food was ok if you liked eating in a disco!!! On the other hand the staff were very friendly but we could not recommend this hotel.

You get what you pay for
There was very little staff presence. Took ages to go and find someone to check in. The room and bathroom were clean but the previous guests takeaway rubbish was in the cupboard in the room which stunk the room out. No one was around to check us out so we just left. I guess you get what you pay for.

Was a big standard room.. nothing special. No coffee available and smallest cups. Toilet flush wasn’t working properly, had to wait a while for staff to check us in and was a little unsure as to why they took my bank details after paying but was an ok stay

No one at reception and no way to attract attention on arrival despite online registration required to repeat process. WIFi code did not work and as no one on reception unable to get help or raise concerns about room. No breakfast available despite info on Expedia saying breakfast was available. Room extremely cold on arrival . Shower head had dirt and mould so unable to shower.

corridor floor was wooden and squeaked when someone walked by your room, door to my room were not properly closed and it didnt reduced any noise from outside. Window was difficult to close as handle didnt work properly. Loud music from the restaurant was disturbing I must give positive feedback to the kitchen, food was very good and portions are big

Absolutely disgusting customer service The man who i waited to check me in for 25mins Then he made me feel intimidated & he made me feel he didnt like look of my appearance but when u suffer 14 yr domestic violence physically and mentally but got myself away diagnosed PTSD & i didnt leave house till 25th sep when when into honeymoon suit absolutely basic room with loads of issues mould lime scale on bath taps stains down sude bath lose wallpaper n carpet coming awy in middle floor dust on wardrobe thick with hairs etc tv removals didnt work no fridge left bar as 1pint Forster tasted washing up liquid & flatas fart pint flat dark fruit £9.90 He complained & said would u like to try different drinka moreti but then charged me but manager absolutely disgusting way to treat your staff i actully had to leave as i wanted to stand up & speak out as he treating them shocking clicking fingers to staff to move plates etc also shouting in front of the whole dining area i left 1st thing next mornong ive emailed company requesting refund but not chane he is a horrible bully poor staff run ragged he stood at end of bar watching people come in the dining area & he was constantly shouting at staff
