Great Location, handy for town centre but!

Posted 17-Aug-2017
As in other reviews the Hotel is a bit tired, breakfast was limited, not what was listed on the menu, no field mushrooms, everything was over cooked, only one type of cheese, if it was not for the service I would have rated less!

Good location and quiet

Posted 28-Jul-2017
Pros: Its character and history. Magnificent building
Cons: Free parking for guests. Any double bed against the wall one side; therefore no bedside table & difficult for other occupant getting up during night.
Location: Convenient for all town amenities. Good bus service to adjoining towns and cities and places of interest such as Ripon cathedral.
Nice hotel close to centre and bus routes. Downside having to pay for hotel parking. Restaurant good and efficient.

Lovely hotel in a good location close to town

Posted 24-Jul-2017
Pros: Architecture, very modern bathroom
Cons: Restaurant staff were not interested in seating guests or paying attention
Location: Great location
Enjoyed our stay but were very disappointed that there were quite a few temporary buildings in the garden meaning we were unable to use the gardens which are big part of the hotel. They should have informed us prior to our stay and we could have gone another time.

Good hotel location in Harrogate

Posted 24-Jul-2017
My wife and I booked hotel as part of birthday celebrations. Good central location within walking distance to centre. We were only in basic room but was more than adequate. Good size, immaculately clean, good bathroom also immaculately clean. Quiet. Only recommendation would be for price feel sky tv should be available in rooms

What I needed, where I wanted it.

Posted 23-Jul-2017
Pros: Clean, comfortable beds, good mattress. Ground floor has nice renovation. Good front desk staff.
Cons: Staff in dining room need additional training. Some are very good and others not so much.
Location: Central for everything in Harrogate, couldn't be better.
Room small, I've got too used to North American amenities such as soap, shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion in rooms. No air conditioning in rooms. Good buffet breakfast, the only way to get a poached egg the way you want it to be is order what you want, receive a blank stare, then send it back, they get it right the second time.

Love the Majestic, fantastic period features.

Posted 03-Jul-2017
Pros: Period feature Family friendly Swimming pool
Cons: Noise from function rooms
Location: Harrogate spa baths Gardens Shopping Champagne Concept
Love the Majestic, fantastic period features but a bit shabby in places. Room was lovely and spacious. Unfortunately this time it was directly above a function room where the 80's band was belting out what sounded like bad karaoke at such a volume the headboard and floor shook. At least this stopped by 12.30am but it did ruin our night. To be fair the staff would have move us, but the hotel was full - so we had to put up with the noise and a the hotel accepted and resolved our complaint. We've stayed at the majestic several times before with no issues and I'm happy to say we will stay again - but request a quiet room!

Grand old Lady recently taken over.

Posted 25-Jun-2017
Pros: Very central, fine architecture. Jolly good breakfast
Cons: Staff may well be a legacy from previous owners and when investment slows down so does training and morals.
Location: Harrogate is a beutifull Town and the garden and parkland are second to none. Good theatre, top shops and many good restaurants.
Stately building recently taken over by new owners so take this point into account. Very dissapointed in the condition of standard room, not only extremely tired but bed linnen and vallance actually stained and dirty. Front desk manager changed room without hesitation to his credit. However for pub prices you can stay in a stately building and have a fine breakfast in a historic ballroom. The hotel needs a makeover and this is going to cost the new owners a vast amount of investment but offcourse they will have to raise the prices to re-coup the investment. One could argue take the opportunity to stay here before the prices go up and enjoy one of Harrogates historic finest. In being fair many of the grand hotels or should I say most of the grand hotels in Harrogate have had their day and look forward to new money being injected.

Lovely hotel

Posted 23-Jun-2017
Pros: The location, the decor and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Cons: The only problem we encountered was that the car park was full on our arrival and we had to park on the road outside requiring a parking disc.
Location: excellent location with lots of restaurants, shops and things to do within walking distance.
My daughter and I enjoyed a fantastic weekend break here. The hotel was lovely and the facilities were very good. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. We used the gym and pool which were good. The hotel was in a grast location within a short walk to the town centre.
