Stayed in room a classic room, view of front grounds. Nice decor in keeping with the house period.
The bed was comfortable, but, squeaked due to the wooden base, each time you moved. It had clumbsy wooden blocks behind the headboard (dusty) which did not help much.
There lamp next to the bed had a blown bulb, I feel detail like that should be checked. There is a large sash window, which thankfully let some fresh air into the room, there is no air conditioning, so, I imagine it can get rather warm on a hot night. You should note that room 109 is above the entrance, so, you may endure noise from late night revellers. Additionally, the gallery area outside the room is in constant use for wedding photography, so the weekends do not offer peace and quiet, the continuing chatter ruined what would have been a leisurely Sunday morning, I found this inconsiderate and irritating.
There was a decent tea, coffee tray & mini fridge.
The rain shower was adequate, stable temperature. There is also a separate shower attachment. Some toiletries, bathrobe and slippers are provided.
The breakfast. Not impressive. We had an in room breakfast. The fruit salad consisted of under ripe, bland melon pieces, 2 grapes, 1 small chunk if pineapple; poor quality, disappointing.
The scrambled egg (no choice of fried,or poached, on the menu) was slightly under par. The tea was stewed, a teapot of boiled water with a separate teabag would have been better. The quality did not warrant the price.
