Super happy after 2 nights stayed with my family (including seniors and children). Highly recommended. This is the best hotel in Hanoi's old quarter that you can checkin for cleanliness, comfy beds, spacious, short walking distance to all the attractions in the city and nearby many well-known local delicacies and coffee stores, very close to the Sword Lake (Ho Guom), very friendly and helpful staffs,... I was amazed by the great service from the hotel staffs who prepared a take-away breakfast for me upon my early checkout.

Although tuck along a small lane, the hotel is within the old quarter and within walking distance to many places like the night market and puppet theater. The staffs there are extremely courteous and helpful. Most understand and speaks English. The breakfast is fantastic as you have a choice based on a menu. Will definitely return to stay in this hotel when I go back to Hanoi!

Delightful hotel
Well positioned in the Old Quarter of Hanoi, the Golden Legend is a comfortable bout hotel. What makes it exceptional are the staff, all of whom are delightful and cannot do enough to make your stay enjoyable. One of the most pleasant experiences we’ve ever had in all our trips overseas. We’ll definitely be returning to the Golden Legend next time we are in Hanoi.

Nice hotel in good location just off Ly Quoc Su.
Good location, clean rooms at a fair price. Staff are friendly and helpful. Morning breakfast is a pleasant experience on the top floor.

In the old quarter but hotel needs upgrade
Location is close to major attractions in the city. Noise in the bottom floors is loud and street traffic can be heard in levels higher up Reception staff very good and very eager to make your stay enjoyable

Great staff and great location
This hotel is located in the Old Quarter and close to everything. We arranged airport transfers and a tour through them and weren't disappointed. We stayed twice on the trip, once for 3 days before a Halong Bay cruise and for one night after and the staff were absolutely amazing. Some would say the breakfast provided is a little light but we found it filled our requirements. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this hotel.

Golden Legend Hotel is Golden
We had planned on staying in Hanoi 3 days but with snow coming to our other destination, we decided to stay an extra couple days. Though in the center of the Old Quarter, the hotel is on a very quiet street. They accommodated our additional days and even lowered the price. Breakfast is very good and the laundry service quick. We were able to slow down and really absorb the culture. We saw many of the museums and enjoyed the quiet haven of our hotel after dodging the motorcycles of the city. The manager, Ha speaks english very well and was exceptionally kind and helpful. We both highly recommend the Golden Legend Hotel.

Great location for sightseeing
Great location! Breakfast included a cooked item from a menu with no extra charge. Staff were so helpful, lovely and spoke good English. Our only issue came from being on 2nd floor. There was no door between the reception area and the stairs leading to our room on second floor. A group arrived at 11 pm one night and the check in process and (loud) talking and laughing woke us up. So try to avoid rooms on second floor.

Great little hotel
Our family had a few days here and the staff are great! So helpful and friendly. Walking distance to lake but in a fairly quiet street. We had a City Views Triple Deluxe Room (hotel is only 7 stories so city view is just to street below). Great couple of shops opposite, and a cute little coffee place when you come out of hotel on your left upstairs.

Mid-level hotel in a superb location
This hotel is on a very quiet street while also being as close as it is possible to be to the major Hanoi attractions. Hanoi has many hotels guests seem happy with but we did not see any that we would have preferred to ours. The staff is very nice, also.

The staff here are amazing. Helpful, friendly and kind. The location is excellent. The breakfast is very good. The hotel is nice. The rooms are well sized. The bathroom is well sized. The bed was too firm for me but the staff made an extra effort to find a foam pad to make it more soft.

Hotel conveniently located!
Thank you Mrs Sunny and your team for truly looking after us like guests in your own home! Right from the moment we stepped into this hotel, we were welcomed, made comfortable and our every need was well looked after. The staff make the difference! The rooms are clean and comfortable, hotel is conveniently located, b'fast is not great but considering the price you pay, I would say you totally get your money's worth and would highly recommend this hotel to others! Good recommendations too, on the trip to Halong Bay and pickup/dropoff from the airport..

Hotel in old quarter
Hotel is located away from main street hence very little traffic noise at night to have a good rest. Convenient location. Service oriented staffs. Friendly and helpful. Definitely return to stay on next trip.

We stayed there 3 nights. The first night the AC wasn't working, so they made arrangements for us to stay in a their sister hotel, The Artesian. They were able to move for the next two nights to the 7th Floor where the AC was working. The rooms were clean and I cannot say enough about how helpful and accommodating the staff was! The staff will go out of their way to make sure you are satisfied. They will also change your dollars for dong at a good rate! I will definitely stay again if I am in Hanoi.

Our stay at Golden Legend Hotel was 5+ stars!!! The manager (Mrs Sunny) & hotel staff were extremely attentive & were available for our EVERY want & need!!! with exceptional recommendations for restaurants & sight- seeing as well as calling for reliable taxi & taking care of laundry. The complementary breakfast was MORE than expected!!! It was very filling & the highest quality.

Couldn't ask for better service
Sunny at the desk and the doorman (name?) gave us the greatest service we've experienced in years!! She anticipated all our needs and met or exceeded our expectations. Pick ups and drop offs all perfectly executed. Lovely, super clean room. Superb spa (ViSpa) right across the street. Wonderful breakfast with a choice of Vietnamese and western dishes. Simply loved this place.

location wise, good for those wanting a historical typical downtown area of days gone by, hotel to me was a real surprise as it was filled with all amenities of a more upmarket hotel, including flip flop and A Computer . wow !! room was of a good size , maybe about 32 sq m , nice furnished and bed bit hard but comfy staffs overall was good, will recommend any travelers to Hanoi to check out this little Gem of hotel

We stayed at the Goldend Ledgend for two nights, and were very pleased with the hotel. The room was of good size, clean, and with a large and comfortable bed. The bathroom was OK. Modern TV, free wifi, 2 bottles of complimentary water (pr day) + tea and coffee. The breakfast was good. No buffet (as it is served in a small room), but we could select what we wanted from a menu and it was prepared fresh for us. The location was excelent, in the old quarter, with several cafes, restaurants and shops close by. The staff were very friendly and helpfull. WUpon departure we payed a fee of 15$ (for 2 people) for the airport transfer, which seams like a fair price for a 40 minutes ride. We would stay here again. Great value for money (the hotel was very reasonsble when we booked.

We found the staff and service at this hotel to be outstanding. We felt welcome from the moment we checked-in. If we required help with directions, taxi's, sim cards and advice, they bent over backwards ( probably more than one could expect) and made our stay one of the "best we have experienced." Breakfast was made to order each morning, and was outstanding. They even let us stay one morning after our return from Sapa, and have a sleep in a room plus shower and breakfast at no charge.......Would stay here again without checking any alternatives and will recommend to everyone.

Good Solid hotel on a quiet street in the Old Quarter. Great staff who are very accommodating. Room is good sized, with a comfortable bed, desk and chairs. Decent bath with a tub. Small fridge, free snacks & fruit a nice touch. Good air conditioning a plus as well. Very nice breakfast on top floor - both western and Vietnamese dishes along with fruit, coffee and tea. Pho is very good! Location is on a nice quiet street but easy walking distance to Old Quarter, sites and shopping.

Could not and would not fault this hotel. The staff here were excellent and could not do enough to make our stay more enjoyable. Have previously stayed in 4 other hotels within the Hanoi old quarter and this was by far the best. Sure we payed a little more than previous stays but it was worth every dollar. The hotel was close to every thing and was also quiet. Would highly recommend this hotel.

We really admired this hotel staff's warm hospitality. Guest room's soundproof is quite poor, expecially the joint room at 7th floor, you can hear every words the next-door guests speaking, Except this problem (it resolved by using earprug, and after we moved to the other room, the noise decreased), we are perfectly satisfied with this hotel.

We were transfered to Golden Sun 2 (not 4) and found a spotlessly clean, modern hotel with excellent friendly and helpful staff who went out of their way to make our stay easy and enjoyable. Nothing was too much trouble. We would certainly choose this hotel again when we return to Hanoi.

Good hotel. Quiet location and yet just a 5 minute walk away from the old quarter where most of the tourist shopping action is. The rooms are first class and each room has its own computer with internet access, a flatscreen TV, and comfortable beds with white sheets and comforters. The staff is also very helpful. The bathroom is very clean as well. Their breakfast menu is decent but could definitely use some improvement. Like most of Hanoi, they are not yet accustomed to preparing Western dishes. Just be sure to clear things up with the front desk if you are going to take the airport pick up service. It's reasonably priced, USD 18 for a seven seater vehicle. When we arrived, we were picked up by a spacious van that could actually seat 9-10 persons. For our departure however, they simply acquired the services of a Totoya Innova Taxicab, which is much smaller and actually only seats 6 passengers, the driver being the 7th. Also, taking the cab directly would have been cheaper.

Beautiful and very pleasant hotel if you get the right room at the right price. Our first room had mold and mildew along the old windows and a broken showerhead but our second room was absolutely stunning - brand new, spick and span. Great staff but do not use the hotel to book tours - overpriced!
