When we tried to check in we found that the hotel appears to be permanently closed. No one informed us ahead of time despite of our reservation. We found that there was mold in the bathroom. The fridge contained food items from a previous guest. Overall it was a bad experience.

TV did not work. Small lobby. Got to hotel at 11am. Could not get into my room until 2:20 pm. Left my bags behind front desk, and walked around city, having lunch, until 2:20.

This is an excellent value for your money. Though not expensive, it is well constructed and appointed like a quality hotel should be. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The area is quiet and the location is very convenient to transportation and shopping.

The place was clean and quiet, when I came into the breakfast room at 8 it was kind picked over , I wish they would attend to it a little more , one person ask if the could make more coffee

I arrived after 10pm and the hotel reception was closed. I had to travel to another hotel few kilometres away to get the key and come back to get into my room. It's unheard of especially for a country like German. It was an awful experience and extremely disappointing.

Hotel was OK for use at trade fair but price was very high for condition and location. No restaurants close by took credit card so be sure to have cash. On the plus side food was very good at both.

the only thing we didn't like they lock the doors at 10 pm and the elevators are closed from10 pm to 6 am so you will have to lug your suitcases down the stairs

Fantastic value
Just a very pleasant hotel experience. From the speedy and friendly check-in to the cleanliness of the room, it was just great value all round. Added bonus was the tasty Greek food from the restaurant next door.

Basic hotel - in name and function
I had an early flight out of Hannover, so Basic Hotel met my needs. It is a short walk from the train station and there are a number of restaurants close by. As with most hotels in Germany, it was clean and functional. However, it was short of comfort. A comfy chair in the room would have been wonderful. But the hotel served my needs for an inexpensive hotel close to the airport.

The clue is in the name
It says basic and it is just that! Staff are very helpful and friendly but the rooms are very basic, single bed basic shower room shampoo in plastic packets really low budget and not well kept, a bit tired. Was very expensive since this was show week in Hannover

Good for late arrival
very convenient for a late arrival at Langenhagen airport (HAJ), but a little close to the runway. However, the double glazing took care of mist of the noise. Nice hotel, pleasant staff and cleverly furnished room. I would stay there again.

the bottled water is not free, even it says so in the booking page. I showed my booking with free bottled water and they still refused to give me one. thumb down on that!

Check in before 10pm or walk 3 kilometres!
Breakfast was good, bed was basic, the check in was not good. It says under "notice" to check in before 11pm but that is not correct as check in is closed after 10pm. Result was a round trip walk to mother hotel "best western" get the keys and return to "worst western". And to find this out you need some local help. Good luck with your German!!

The staff is surly, the "free wifi" only works in the cramped lobby, and the amenities are - as the name would imply - basic. That being said, they lay out a decent spread for breakfast, but don't try to get it before 6:30. They lock the door and elevator so no one can get to the first floor.

Simple, clean a a place to rest a weary head
The Basic Hotel is pretty much that. 10 mins cab ride from the Airport, pretty basic means and interesting choice of decor but it was clean, cosy and secure. I must say as a single female traveller I felt the security of the place was very good, and noted that this is one place Ive stayed in where I have felt really comfortable. I had to arrange to collect my room key from their sister hotel, The Best Western, that was pretty sufficient and easy to do so to let myself into the hotel after the reception had closed. The free breakfast wasn't bad and the staff, although the ones I came across, spoke little English they were very friendly and efficiently dealt with my questions. Overall I wouldn't mind staying here again.

Very poor hotel. I booked two single beds we had to get a taxi to a sister hotel costing 30e and there was only a double bed!

Very disappointed.
Upon arrival we asked for places to go in the evening, we were told there was nowhere to go only the hotel. We went out for a walk and found numerous restaurants where we could also relax and have a drink, At breakfast time from 7am till 10am. We were at breakfast for 9-30 , everything was turned off and cold, there was no coffee until we asked for it. The tea selection was empty, they made my husband boiled eggs after complaining and looking at there watches, the eggs arrived very under cooked which we were not surprised by the lack of hospitality and attitude of the staff, the kitchen staff stayed in the kitchen giggling and laughing very loudly and then a succession of around 7or 8 people proceeded to come and look at us and vanish into the kitchen, I did not bother with what was on offer and left because of how humiliating the staff were my husband followed soon after , we packed and left even thanking the receptionist because to do anything else would have been fruitless, we will also be posting this on trip adviser, However credit where it is due , the restaurant manager from Greece was pleasant and friendly. Such a shame the rest of his team have not learnt from his standard. We were in 2 minds to ask for the breakfast refund, but I think it would have been taken directly out of our account. Choose a different hotel even basic hotels should have hospitality and manners

Lives up tonit's name!
We booked the Basic hotel for a last minute business trip. Unfortunately we planned the trip at the same time as the CeBit conference, so the only hotel rooms to be found were here. Assuming that it would be similar to a Premier lnn, Ibis, Travelodge etc. Firtsly we arrived late and had to walk 1.5km to collect our room key. Once in our rooms we were greeted by the most horrible stench. All of or llur rooms were the same, so therefore have to assume that our experience was typical. I'd urge anyone to only consider this hotel as a last resort. a very unpleasant experience! We did however find the funny side of our experience!

Hotel is not really next to the airport as it's around 5km from the airport a cab would cost you around 8 euros from the airport. For a 2 star hotel it's quite good, rooms are clean and breakfast and restaurant are fine. I think they should improve a the reception staff service.

If you want to go to a cheap hotel close to the airport, don't go to this one. This hotel isn't actually close to the airport. The taxi to and from the airport makes this hotel worse than going to the more expensive hotels near the airport. But if you want to go to an ok-to-nice hotel in Hannover, then this is fine.

Can you get a better value for your money?
I think this place is hard to beat. Everything is good from the front desk staff competence and friendliness to the rooms. Ok, the rooms decor is somewhat dated but you have the amenities you need and all is clean. I stayed at a four star hotel the week before and had a massive 10 year old TV. Here they have sleek TVs. The bed was comfy and the breakfast was way above average. Wifi also worked perfectly and was free. I can honestly say I think I never had a better value for money.
