Complaints: 1. Room 1 sliding door doesn’t close without a struggle. 1st day they had to come close/lock the door for us. Since then kids lift the door from the frame to close. They feel It will Fall off the frame. 2. Room 1 every time they shut the bathroom door, it doesn’t fit in the frame, so they have to slam the door. Every time that happens the casing on the outlet falls down. 3. Room 1. Bugs in the room. 4. Room1 and Room 2 Toilets didn’t flush the first day. When complained, the game a plunger and asked us to dea wth it. Second time they realized they shut off the water. Why was the water shut off? 5. Room1 & room 2: hot water didn’t work. When it works it works for a short time. Yiu should be quick time get the shower. 6. No one at the reception available. All are gone for most part of the day. You have a problem no one to talk to. 7. Bathroom windows are at eye level and no curtains. Anyone CAN peek if they want to while you are in bathroom 8. No fans or AC. It’s stuffy in the room if windows are not open. Windows open- noisy from neighbor property. Neighbor, a residential property plays music late at night and roosters on the property which are fed by the Cabanas starts crow starting at 4AM. 9. Breakfast doesn’t start till 8:30. Most tours starts before that. So we are buying breakfast outside. Not a complaint , just a suggestion, It helps if breakfast starts earlier.

Beautiful view, comfortable room, wonderful warm people! They connected us with a personal guide for two full days -- it was a much better experience than taking a group tour. I highly recommend this facility!

Family Run Hotel and a Wonderful Place to Stay!

Posted 23-Apr-2017 on Hotels
This is a quaint hotel with rustic charm (as are most of the hotels on Easter island), located in town, very close to the ocean and the Ahu Tahai moai - where you can view one of the most beautiful sunsets you'll experience. The room was large and maintained daily, and it felt as though you were staying with family. It is worthy to note that soap and shampoo were not provided, but you can certainly pick up supplies at the local markets or pharmacy. Note that some rooms do not have typical door bolts, but may use pad locks - but this is part of the charm. However, there was never a moment where we felt unsafe. The included breakfast was homemade, plentiful and served by the very friendly staff. There was some confusion with the airport pick-up, where we waited over an hour - because they were uncertain which of the two daily flights we were on; this despite having called the hotel directly one week prior to confirm. I wished they would leverage email and contact guests directly to confirm pick up details. On the return to the airport, we were placed in a cab - which they covered. Overall the hotel contributed to the positive experience we had on Easter Island, and we would recommend it.

Wifi (very slow) only in common areas; very dissatisfied with the price, it was &188 for 2 nights (agreed by the owner) but then she exchanged the amount at the highest rate, only time this happened at Easter Island....paying $10 more just because....It's a great way to make that extra buck I guess....

Clean and comfortable hotel

Posted 30-Nov-2016 on Hotels
As everything in Easter Island is so expensive that this hotel is considered to be worthwhile. The place was so comfortable and relaxing as birds' were singing around you and rooms were surrounded with flowers and plants. Owner is very nice and helpful.

Value for money

Posted 16-Feb-2016 on Hotels
We had the 1st floor 6 bed room all to ourselves, which was very large and clean. The location is good, only a short walk to Main Street. Only downside is that you can only get wifi at the reception area and it didn't work 2 of the 4 days we were there - but this could be typical on the island. Overall it was value for money.

Relaxing Stay, Close to Hanga Roa

Posted 10-Jun-2014
Pros: The rooms are very spacious. The breakfast nook had a great view in the morning and the staff was so kind.
Location: Visit all the Moai Ahu, Anakena Beach, the Art Village up by the church - all handmade souvenirs.
I had a great time on Easter Island. I was there for 5 days and the Cabañas Keuhenua host was waiting at the airport to pick me up! She didn't speak English, but we made it work! I had breakfast in the little kitchen/dinning nook right next to my cabana every morning and the fresh bread daily and homemade jam was delicious with my coffee and homegrown papaya smoothie. My cabana was straightened up every day and I had a room with 1 double bed and 1 single with a bathroom. She has a beautiful garden of flowers and fruits and vegetables growing with an amazing view of the ocean. I would definitely recommend Cabañas Keuhenua to anyone who is looking for a convenient, hospitable and relaxing place to stay on Easter Island!
