Family Run Hotel and a Wonderful Place to Stay!
Posted 23-Apr-2017 on Hotels
This is a quaint hotel with rustic charm (as are most of the hotels on Easter island), located in town, very close to the ocean and the Ahu Tahai moai - where you can view one of the most beautiful sunsets you'll experience.
The room was large and maintained daily, and it felt as though you were staying with family. It is worthy to note that soap and shampoo were not provided, but you can certainly pick up supplies at the local markets or pharmacy. Note that some rooms do not have typical door bolts, but may use pad locks - but this is part of the charm. However, there was never a moment where we felt unsafe.
The included breakfast was homemade, plentiful and served by the very friendly staff.
There was some confusion with the airport pick-up, where we waited over an hour - because they were uncertain which of the two daily flights we were on; this despite having called the hotel directly one week prior to confirm. I wished they would leverage email and contact guests directly to confirm pick up details. On the return to the airport, we were placed in a cab - which they covered.
Overall the hotel contributed to the positive experience we had on Easter Island, and we would recommend it.
