A lovely property, currently under renovation so the exterior was a bit untidy. However, my room was very comfortable and the restaurant was excellent. The staff were helpful and friendly.

Lovely hotel hidden away in the woods. Room lovely and comfortable and dinner was gorgeous. Our second stay and definitely not our last.

Room needs an update. Numerous marks on the carpet and mould in the shower. Couldn’t accommodate 4 people for drinks in the evening as we weren’t dining there even though it’s supposed to be a pub.

Beautiful room, beautiful hotel. Much bigger than I expected from the pictures. Lovely warm, friendly atmosphere. Was only there for a night but wished I could have stayed longer

An Excellent Memory
We had an upgrade which we really appreciated. The room was quirky, old yet trendy appliances, lovely. The service was faultless and the staff couldn’t do enough to make us feel comfortable. Breakfast staff were particularly diligent, especially Jenny who was so attentive and thoughtful to our wishes. We will definitely return!

Room, breakfast excellent. Dinner not at all.
The room was excellent in every way. The breakfast was very, very good. The dinner, unfortunately, was not. They brought the wrong order and by the time they had corrected that the other order was cold and unappetizing. They apologized but did not make any effort to compensate in any way. They marred our 45th anniversary dinner.

We booked for a three night stay. At dinner on day one (Sunday) many of the courses listed on the menu were not available. Similarly, the first three ales requested were not on tap. We did not use the restaurant or bar, other than for breakfast that, incidentally, was very good, again during our stay.

It’s rare to walk into a hotel and find everything is perfect from the second you arrive to the second you leave. I didn’t have to pay small fortunes to get the high standard either. I highly recommend you stay here if you’re anywhere in the area.

Very comfy room - terrible food
Hotel was very comfortable. We stayed in a junior suite which was amazing - huge comfy bed, impressive bathroom with huge bath tub, very comfortable and quiet. Could not have been better. The big downside was the food in the hotel restaurant. Breakfast on our first day was bad - the portions were tiny (eg 1/2 a small mushroom was ‘mushrooms, and tofu enough for a baby was served as an adult portion. Chef also seemed to struggle to cook a poached egg so it was runny and didn’t taste of vinegar. Really disappointing. Dinner related better but was so over priced - £16.95 for an average vegan burger and chips was poor value. On balance we’d certainly stay there again but we’d make plans to eat elsewhere.

Beautiful setting, nice, comfortable room. We arrived on a Sunday and were not able to check in immediately. Nearly missed out on dinner as service ended at 8pm. Central heating was described in the room information book as “temperamental” and it did indeed stop working, although there was a little electrical heater. Breakfast was lovely. Overall a pleasant stay but they need to fix CH and also improve the check in and some aspects of customer service.

Great stay
We stayed for two nights and we had a lovely time. All of the staff were friendly and very helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Our room was lovely and comfortable. Although there was building work around the grounds we hardly heard it and it did not impact on our stay. The food was delicious for breakfast and dinner. Definitely will recommend to friends and family.

Lovely stay
Very nice hotel which, with a few tweaks would make it even better. Interiors were clean and seemed to offer good COVID precautions. Meals were good. Outside the windows could do with a good clean. Staff were super friendly which was nice. The hotel is undoubtedly overpriced but one must remember that it is situated in a prime position within the New Forest National Park.

Great character hotel. Excellent staff and service in all areas. Just a shame it was a bit tired and there were far too many cobwebs in the room and public areas for me to call it clean

Exceeded expectations.
Overall a great stay, this place really did exceed our expectations, the check in was quick and efficient, great staff and service The room was well laid out and well stocked with tea and coffee, along with great toiletries. Bathroom was spotless and great condition. Ben was very comfy and we had a great nights sleep. We dined in the restaurant a number of times, breakfast was always good, so was lunch and dinner. Overall a great place in a fantastic area, we shall be visiting again.

White buck inn
We have stayed in this Hotel probably 8 times over the years but this was the first time we have stayed out in the rear annex, the room itself was ok but was primarily for disabled access and we had deliveries every morning before 8 am which was 3 ft from our window, not good 😡

Great location inside the New Forest and a short drive to tbe coast. Helpful and friendly staff. Enjoyed breakfast a lot.
