"Lovely hotel in middle of Hampshire village "
My brother and I walk together once a year to catch up as we live in different parts of the country. This year we decided on the 24 mile Clarendon Way from Winchester to Salisbury. Although off the Way Stockbridge is a beautiful village and convenient half way point to stop for the night. On arrival at the Three Cups very tired after our twelve mile walk we were shown to two very pleasant rooms by a helpful member of staff. The rooms were clean and fresh with very welcome tea and biscuits available. After a good rest we went down to the busy bar for a much needed pint before a delicious meal in the quirky restaurant. There were only five main dishes available but were a good choice and we both had the pork belly. For dessert we had a berry jelly, something we would normally have associated with school dinners but which turned out to be quite delicious. There was a good selection of fruit and cereals at breakfast and we both enjoyed the smoked salmon with scrambled eggs.

"Much better than expected."
Booked and arrived the same day as a last minute visit. It is in the middle of no where, so do plan your travel first. We arrived, checked in quickly, and was given room 35. This was in their new wing and was very nice. Staff were all friendly in the hotel. The swimming pool is small and very shallow at one end. Great if you have kids, not so great if you want to swim a few lengths in the morning. Think of it as a relaxing pool than one to complete a work out. Next door is a pub. Food was average / good for a pub, and the beers are local. On the pricey side, but all staff friendly and attentive.

"Lovely inn with great staff and food"
This was our stop-over on our way to New Forest from Stonehenge. Had we known it would be such a charming place, we would have stayed another day and explored the area more. The owner is an amazing chef, and if you can manage it, go for Thai Tuesday. The pub/dining room is nice, and the tables are far enough apart to enjoy a bit of intimacy with your date. They also have great local ale and cider that goes great with the food. The inn itself is a renovated horse stable--perfect if you're visiting New Forest to enjoy the horse culture--ironically, we're from the horse capital of the world (Lexington, KY) and didn't expect to find a place so much like home. The rooms could use just a bit of upgrading, but the art books filled with drawings by local artists (that change monthly) were charming, as were the antique furnishings. We got a great night's sleep because it was so dark outside (no artificial lights streaming in the curtains) and because it was such a quiet establishment. We'll definitely stay there again when we pass through New Forest.

A fine hotel out in the country yet close to Stonehenge, Magna Carta. The hotel has a terrific restaurant and serves a wide variety of meals. The rooms were fine but there was no lift so if you are unable to take your luggage up stairs then you will need to ask for a ground floor room. Breakfast was wonderful as well. If you want an experience of long ago then the Hatchett Inn is excellent😀

"Nice hotel but a bit dated room"
I expected a bit more for the category of price i paid for a suit. The hotel itself is nice, location is good too but the superior room we stayed in all in pink, furniture style looks cheap and dated

"Country pub with cost rooms."
Picturesque location. Nice pub with very good food at reasonable prices given the quality. Room was relatively small but not at all cramped and was well equipped. Breakfast was very good. Overall a good place to stay and eat. Would certainly recommend and would happily stay there again if we were to revisit the area.

"Nice - great location - but Rave-a-licious!!"
No complaints about the hotel. It was just fine & very comfortable & accommodating. However, if you select this hotel (or the other 2 nearby) make sure you ask for a room on the backside. There is a Mc Donald's that faces these hotels and it features an incredibly noisy ALL NIGHT RAVE in the parking lot - even during the week! Don't plan on sleeping unless you get a room in the back. Other than that, it's less than 5 minutes & $5 via taxi to the cruise terminal & 2 minutes to the train station. Stonehenge awaits! Hotel staff told us they are seeking an ordinance against Mickey D's for allowing the rave. Let's hope they are successful. So, I say 'uncomfortable' based on the noise.....

"Fab cooked breakfast"
Very comfortable spacious room. Excellent choice at breakfast including vegetarian. Huge trad full English breakfast VERY CLEARLY itemised on board. I hate to see waste as no doubt the owners do, - so if for example you don't like tomato or whatever, please just say when you order rather than leaving it on your plate!!!

Pocket Guide: Pet Friendly Hotel in Hampshire

Blessed with a plethora of wide open spaces, Hampshire is an ideal county for those who want to get to grips with the Great Outdoors or those who have children and want to get some fresh air in their lungs. Deciding to take a break away from home can have its problems, especially if you own a dog. The thought of your four-legged friend pining away in a kennel or not having his regular treats can be enough for some people to cut their trip short or even abort the plan altogether. Now you needn't worry - Hampshire has a growing number of pet-friendly hotels, ranging from B&Bs and guest houses, to luxury country houses. With plenty of dog-friendly attractions throughout the county, bringing your pet with you doesn't have to be a problem.

    Pet-Friendly Hotels in Hampshire

The Three Cups Inn in Stockbridge is an excellent example of a Hampshire pet-friendly hotel. Set close to a beautiful riverside walk and with the dog-friendly attraction of Danebury Iron Age Hill Fort just a short stroll away, there's plenty for the whole family to enjoy. The Augustus John, in Fordingbridge, is another pet-friendly hotel. Set close to the New Forest National Park and another riverside walk, it offers comfortable and characterful accommodation and a bounty of things for dog-owners to see and do.

    Luxury Hotels That Permit Dogs

You'll even find a number of luxury hotels that accept dogs on their premises. Stanwell House is a boutique hotel offering luxury-standard lodgings with all the little attentions to detail that elevate a stay from being good to outstanding. Although there are a good many dog-friendly attractions just a short drive away, visit during the colder months and you'll find that Lymington Beach is happy to allow dogs onto its sands.

    Wide Open Spaces

If you're stopping for a weekend, the Ibis Southampton Centre offers unpretentious surroundings and is well placed for a number of attractions that are pet-friendly. Itchen Valley Country Park is a superb place for families to visit and dogs are permitted, although they must wear leads in certain areas. The Manor Farm Country Park is also nearby, offering 400 acres of beautiful countryside and woodlands, in which to roam.

Book into a Hampshire pet-friendly hotel and your entire family can enjoy some downtime together - with no exceptions!
