Nice hotel in Liphook

Posted 13-Mar-2017
I stayed over at the hotel on business, and it was a last minute reservation and the hotel is very nice for the amount I paid. There are lots of facilities like gym, swimming pool available that was available for use albeit I never got the chance to use it. The room was a little warm, considering it was February and it did give me some discomfort when trying to sleep but nothing that bad really (and I could have opened a window, but didn't want to get too cold!).

Beautiful hotel, what we could use.

Posted 08-Nov-2016 on Hotels
Very nicely decorated ( & huge) property boasting a golf course, spa facilties etc. I was looking forward to a sports massage as advertised but was told it was not available at weekend (when we were there) and that everything else was booked out (this was over 1 week in advance). I wanted to use the driving range but the spots were already booked and we also wanted to dine in the teppanyaki restaurant but told we "were not allowed to" and that we had to "go through the sales team", I asked if I could talk to the sales team and was told it wasn't possible?! All these facilities that are advertised but that are not possible to use - If i had known in advance I wouldn't have booked it. Also the hotel was fully of loud (& very chavy) wedding guests who were not so quiet. Lastly we went to the lovely restaurant to dine, sat down and ordered drinks but realised upon seeing the menu that the only thing they serve on a Saturday night is a Sunday roast (weird) so we went out instead. On the plus side the breakfast in nice, pool is big and the beds we're comfy - but it doesn't make up for it.

Few days break in South Downs

Posted 27-Oct-2016 on Hotels
3 day break to escape from work. You can relax out here, nice quiet location - maybe too quiet for some. Great for walks / visit National Trust properties. Can't fault the staff, they are great and really nice hotel. Some seating in Dinning area (Kings Lounge) and Sports lounge impractical - for example; in King's back of leather sofas are so up-right they are flat and uncomfortable and in Sports lounge height of tables and seating makes it difficult to eat from. Pool and Spa facilities are nice as is the champagne lounge - but it was a same in such an upmarket bar the dress code wasn't adhered to by guests (and neither did staff say anything). Food is good - but if you're a veggie, you will struggle as lack of menu choices.

Only stayed there as we were attending a wedding

Posted 16-Oct-2016
We only stayed there as we were attending a wedding. I can't say the stay was unpleasant but it is very overpriced for what you get. We had to queue 20 minutes for breakfast, the serving facilities are just not large enough for the size of hotel. There were 2 weddings the previous day and they just could not cope with that amount of people for breakfast.

Charming but hot hotel.

Lovely hotel, great food and housekeeping. No free drinking water, and no air-conditioning. The room was very hot, even though it was cold outside.
