I have never come across such helpful and friendly staff. They certainly went over and above. The floor was quite squeaky in our room and the bed a bit hard for my taste. It’s in a lovely area and nice and quiet

I loved the property and how it was designed. The rooms were lovely and had all the right amenities. The only thing that I suggest to the hotel is that it should revamp it heating system to take a unfloor heating system run by a ground source heat pump instead of fossil fuels and obviously increase the insulation.

Needs a good facelift
Very run down and clearly needs some renovation. The food was shocking and the cleaning staff start at the crack of dawn. It is very close to the Zoo mind was family friendly.

Never again!
When you walk in you think this is nice. Then you hit the freezing corridors and enter a freezing room dated from the early 90s. We found hair all over bathroom and not very clean. The bed looked like it folded into the wall and very uncomfortable. This was not a one off chance in total there was 6 rooms and all to a low standard. Being part of marwell zoo I think we expected more especially at the cost of a room. Hopefully the reason the hotel is so dated is because the money goes to the animals.

Staff were very welcoming. The room was large and pleasantly decorated. Nice and warm for the time of year. We used the pool in the morning and it was at a perfect temperature and big enough. Only stayed one night but would recommend.

The hotel is a great location for my needs but is a little tired and needs some money spent on it, the staff are friendly but could maybe be a bit more dynamic. I stay here for the convenience and the cost but may look at other options a little further away that provide a better overall experience

Whilst well placed in its woodland position the fa bric of the building is in need of refurbishment . Our room was extremely tired looking as was the bathroom. The public areas too could do with a little brightening. My main observation was that housekeeping standards were very poor. We found our bed very poorly made including sequins from previous use on the duvet cover. Our bedroom floor was not hoovered at any time during our 4 night stay. Reception staff and restaurant staffvery good and deserve a better work environment. Price was fair for a three star but some areas sadly lacking for that rating

Worst hotel I’ve stayed in.
The room was dirty no heating or hot water for a shower next morning, and they didn’t have us down for breakfast, they moved us to the “ Bridal suite “ that too had no heating although they gave us a heater. The food and bar was very expensive, I wouldn’t have my wedding there. But saying that the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Bath and shower were dirty and had mild in.
The table in the bridal suite had not even been polished.

Staff Friendly - Room Disappointing.
Staff very friendly - my room disappointing, furniture worn and tired. Bathroom worktop had split so compressed chirp wood on front edge of basin popping out, not very hygienic? Spare blanket stiff as a board, had human hair on it and other bits, looked dirty? Also not normal practice to give water glass to drink from? Manager disagreed my comments but gave me 20% discount.

Dirty uncomfortable unhelpful staff well must of them carpets dirty in walk way's breakfast wasn't bad won't be going back, infact weeks booked for 2 nights bed was so uncomfortable it aggravated my wife's back we left after one we have stayed in 3rd world country's and never had theses problems

Set in woodland but no wildlife to be seen. Somewhere to take a walk outside would have been appreciated. Friendly staff and accommodation was good value for money. Would stay again.

Friendly staff but not well maintained at all
The hotel location is great and the staff is lovely but the hotel is not well maintained . The chairs in the dining room are all stained. The tables are sticky to a point where it seems there is glue on it. The toilets have mould. The mugs and spoons seem like they are not cleaned properly. The hotel would be much better if they maintained it properly.

Desk staff nice over all staff were nice, friendly and helpfulRoom is ok nice size Clean if you don’t look to far The mattresses are super super old with mattress toppers on, no mattress protectors on No pillow protectors, which is just disgusting We had to strip our bed and remake it The bottom sheets don’t fit the bed sadly, The bed was not comfortable at all lumpy just a really bad nights sleep The room really is lacking the little personal touches, No tissues no hair dryers and first time ever no hand soap to was your hands!!! I mean I thought soap was standard I did ask the desk for hair dryer and hand soap which was left outside our room, Very noisy you can hear everything people talking walking around closing doors, turn the tape on will wake the dead And for the price we paid I am a little shocked I’m guessing they are piggybacking on the Zoo reputation, I really wanted to stay here for my birthday while they did leave a nice birthday card and bottle of wine which was nice tissues and hand soap would have been nicer We booked the restaurant for the evening The food was amazing really nice and good size, no complaints and the staff handled some really rude out of order customers very professionally and politely, Breakfast I can’t comment on anymore than we queued for 20 mins and no one moved extremely hot so got a refund and left, You CAN NOT lock your room when inside there is a chain but that won’t stop someone opening your door

We arrived and staff member on the desk was really helpful, check in was simple. Drinks at the bar reasonable on draft but costs on spirits are over priced. The evening meal we had was excellent, the price was as you'd expect for a themed location. Breakfast unfortunately let the whole experience down from my perspective, English Breakfast was largely cold, scrambled egg looked like it had been made for an age and not much on the plate at all. My wife asked for scrambled on toast only instead with the advertised salmon, she does not like fish. The dish came back with fresh toast but the same scrambled egg which smelt of the previously added salmon. Unfortunately we were on a time limit so no value in complaining. However there was plenty of option for continental breakfast. In conclusion I would definitely recommend the location to stay at and in general eat at, others may have had a better breakfasts experience.

Okay for a relatively cheap stay
Firstly I must point out that this hotel is very well priced for the location, hence we were not expecting wonders. On the plus side the staff are very friendly and helpful. They give a decent welcome and make you fell at home. The foyer is well maintained and presentable, as was the function room that we spent the evening in. Also on the plus size our room was upgraded when we checked in FOC. On the minus side, the room could have done with re-decorating because of the random paint chips off the wall and the bed was very hard. However the room was clean and had been well prepared by the staff. The only exceptions to this was the limescale on the heated towel rack and the shower head. In short if I had paid more, I would have been disappointed, but at the price that we paid it was a large room that was well cleaned so was acceptable.

Got a very good deal by booking a long way in advance. The hotel is looking pretty tired and needs a bit of TLC. The breakfast was pretty chaotic having changed to no bookings and all buffet style. But staff tried very hard and were very friendly.

staff were helpful and friendly. food was better than expected from the previous reviews. rooms were warm and comfortable and clean. not hotel fault but a rowdy family group arrived with no respect for others staying and was noisy, there isnt much sound proofing in rooms and could hear conversations ect through the rooms next door. we were moved to a better and quiter room but shame had to move for only a 2 night stay.
