Excellent break. Hotel and setting was lovely, calm and relaxed and so quiet at night. Lovely room comfortable bed and best pillows ever so good have had to order some! The staff were very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed swim in the pool although we did not use the spa. Good location near Winchester. Overall would definitely recommend to family and friends and would stay there again in the future..

"Weekend Break"
We stayed at this hotel about two years ago and since then it has become tired. However, there is scaffolding around the hotel suggesting it is being renovated/up-graded. The room we had was dated but was comfortable and clean. We had a good night's sleep as it was very quiet; always a bonus. The staff at the hotel are always welcoming and do a good job. The hotel is ideally located for the Port Solent area.

"Great modern hotel!"
We chose this hotel due to its location to The Mayflower Theatre and we were not disappointed. It was a very wet afternoon when we arrived at the station, so had to get a taxi! An airline crew was checking in when we arrived, but we didn't wait too long before we got our room key. The front desk staff were extremely delightful and our welcome was a very warm one. We had a great room, interesting shape, spacious with a seating area and a huge bathroom. All facilities you would expect, including coffee and tea making tray. We ate in the restaurant and had a very nice dinner, good price and quality. We slept well as the bed was very comfortable and enjoyed a great shower, nice toiletries too. We were able to walk to the station in the morning, less than 10 minutes away. We will definitely return there is another show at The Mayflower Theatre we'd like to see. To be recommended!

"Nice hotel to relax shame about the building site "
Stay was lovely and relaxing as I needed time out from my busy life. As the weather was nice we sat and had our meal outside just a shame the view of the building site and noise ruined the ambience. Leisure staff very friendly as were waiting staff both evening and breakfast.

"Central location but must try harder."
Room clean and comfortable. Too few staff in evidence and those there were appeared over-stretched. Had to find someone to serve in the bar at 6.30 on a Friday night. Request for fresh milk to the room forgotten. At breakfast as no-one was front of house we found a table and seated ourselves. When a waitress did appear we were not offered tea or coffee and had to ask and the hotel breakfast buffet system was not explained to us. We were discouraged from sitting in the more airy Hampshire Room, off the overcrowded main area, but declined. Tables in the main area were too close together and impeded the route to and from the raised area where the help yourself buffet tables are placed. Tables needed clearing more quickly. Several young staff explained they were new and had to check when requests were made. This is still a comfortable, centrally located hotel but it is overpriced for what it offers.
