"Christmas Shopping Weekend"
I arrived after a long week at work and a 2-hour drive and was warmed by the sight of the well-lit lobby and atrium bar area. It was the perfect destination for travelling into and out of Portsmouth. We beat most of the traffic by leaving early and making the most of relaxing in our room with the Saturday night TV and some room service. We did Gunwharf Quays on Saturday and Cascades on Sunday - a good plan and I got all of my presents sorted in this one weekend!

"Great Location"
Started bumpy, as i had just travelled for 30 hours, due to my having 2 roller bags and being exhausted. The front desk switched my room to a ground level. Not only noisy (I didn't see the ear plugs provided, nor have i ever worn earplugs in my life) it was a disabled room.. i almost broke my neck falling out of the bath/shower with the extra height. I let the front staff know and they wonderfully moved me to a normal room. Great spacious enough especially for the UK, great beds and no issues whatsoever. I had breakfast included in my stay and it was amazing! Highly recommend it

"Always a great stay"
I tend to use this hotel when I'm out for the night in Southampton. With it being a 5 minute walk from Bedford place or a 5 minute taxi from the nicer end of town it's perfectly situated for easy access. The rooms access really always clean and comfortable and you can normally find very competitive rates on line. I paid £55 for a room with a double and a single bed in it. Bargin. And for the money you pay it is actually a very nice hotel, with only the grand harbour locally and of the same sort of size, that is nicer!

"Close to Southampton "
This is the second time we have used this hotel and our experience has been good both times. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the food, excellent. It is about 5 miles from the center of Southampton and in pleasant surroundings. There is a swimming pool and gym facilities on site which would be useful if staying for a few days.

"Nice hotel, village, staff, a confused breakfast"
Nice hotel and room in a lovely village. The staff were also generally friendly. But the breakfast is a bit confused. For some reason they couldn't seem to make scrambled eggs on toast it - it took three attempts and still wasn't right. I think it was something to do with the toast being part of the buffet and eggs a la cart. But overall a nice stay and am happy to recommend it.

"Fantastic weekend away, at Balmer Lawns!"
We arrived on the Friday afternoon, they let us check in at 2.30pm even though check in isn't until 3pm as our room was ready! The room was great, very clean and we brought our dog with us, they even provided a dog bowl and food mat for him- which we where very impressed with.. the whole weekend was just suburb, all the staff where great and nothing was to much trouble, they even let us have breakfast in the lounge area so that our dog could sit with us. We would defiantly go back!

"Nice hotel very close to the town centre"
Nice old hotel with a modern wing containing large rooms, very close to the town centre and cathedral. The weather was to cold to sit out but the hotel has a very nice private garden area. There is also ample on site off street parking for guests. My only negative would be breakfast which was a buffet but at £10 I wasn't over price.
