A very clean and comfortable Guest House. Well supplied, very clean, very roomy and a friendly atmosphere. March and cold weather so no neighbourhood comments. I'd like to go back.

This is an awesome, safe and affordable option in Hamilton. You will be greeted and welcomed at the door and made feel very welcome. I travel with a bicycle and they offer a secure bike shed. Very clean, very classic and well organized to make a quest stay super enjoyable. (I have stayed twice with the same happy experience :)

My second visit was just as lovely as the first. Guests in the mixed dorm were quiet and respectful. The guesthouse is so economical, I would call it no-frills, except the hosts generously provide lots of amenities like laundry facilities, toiletries, extra linens, breakfast food, pantry staples, a computer with printer, board games - even sunscreen, which was very welcome during July. The house was clean and tidy, with the charm of a historic property. Lots of restaurants in the area at all price points, a short walk to downtown, and fantastic bus access. Some reviews called the neighbourhood scary. It's true that there are unhoused people on Mary Street south of the guesthouse, but they minded their business and I minded mine. The property borders a major, well-lit road, and is protected by passcode locks. Thanks again for going above and beyond, and I'll be happy to return on my next visit to Hamilton.

Weekend stay
I stayed in the mixed dormitory. It was clean and those who were there were very quiet and respectful. The owners were very kind. There were several bathrooms to utilize. I appreciated having cleaning products on hand in the restroom.

Adorable house, and my room was supurb. Way betterbthan a hostel, and more character than a hotel. Perfect price, and don't let anyone tell you hamilton doesnt have charm.

What a treasure. I’ve never stayed at a hostel, and I’m hooked. Very welcoming, they covered all the bases, and I felt very safe and comfy. A really easy walk to the Hamilton general Hospital, I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND staying here! Very affordable and worth every penny! Thank you for being great hosts!

Guesthouse in the heart of Hamilton
Comfortable, clean, secure, and well-run guesthouse in the centre of Hamilton. Check-in was easy, and the house was full of useful amenities. Look forward to staying again on my next trip to Hamilton.

A very nice place to stay, with well-maintained amenities in a cozy (and a little bit fancy) old house. The neighborhood looks a little sketchy, but I suppose that helps keep the price down. Homey atmosphere inside.

Such incredible value and a lovely warm welcome despite my being almost an hour behind schedule. Facilities are basic but plentiful and "hit the spot". No soundproofing so inconsiderate fellow travelers might be an issue if you were unlucky. I certainly wasnt!

The host was lovely and very helpful. The house was well over one hundred years old and was at one time magnificent. Now, though not pristine anymore, is historical and very adequate. We are very happy we stayed there.

The guests and staff were respectful of each other's personal property, building property, privacy, and respect. The property amenities were well maintained with all sorts of complimentary kitchen hardware available and we'll maintained bathroom and shared areas. The furniture is old but fully functional. I took advantage of the Wifi but not the computer or printer and free to use. There was cable TV with the TV being old but functional included but not mentioned in the entertainment available in the property description. I had no complaints especially because I didn't have a car to park. The daily charge for shared accommodation definitely was attractive with exception being snoring but tolerable. I would definitely consider going there again.

Convenient location & stay
The owners try to provide anything you might need, including free access to the laundry machine & dryer. If there's anything that's missing, just let them know as they're very friendly and responsive. They provide face masks & plenty of hand sanitizers, but air circulation in the basement could be improved. The walls are thin, so you will hear the other occupants going about their business. Since my room was next to the kitchen, I heard the microwave every time. The neighbourhood is in the rougher part of town with several social assistance agencies in the surrounding area, but I was never harassed by anyone.

a great way to see Hamilton ON
I had an excellent time - very close to downtown- very friendly and accommodating staff (they held my luggage so I could explore more as i did not have a car) the guests were also fun to talk to - I reserved a private room, still very economical. The house is clean and very historic (from 1855) this was the best hostel I've stayed in twenty years. Free food was an ice unexpected touch and good for people traveling on a tight budget.
