Cheap room but travel lodge (etc) do it better.
Lack of staff meant reception wasnt manned on my arrival. Turns out the receptionist is also the bar man.
Walking to my room, the carpet was filthy. Just a vacuum would be an massive improvement.
The room was small and basic but clean. The furniture in the room was all chipped and damaged.
The bathroom had evidence of black mould on the ceiling.
I also couldn't really tell if anything had been made covid safe.
The staff (different chap on reception jn the evening) were friendly and professional.
Due to covid we were very restricted. On booking we were told the bar would be open, a full english breakfast would be available in the dining room but they weren't .

When booking this room it asked if I want Breakfast at an additional £18.00. Do not take this option, £18.00 for 2 slices of toast, a bit of jam and butter, some cereal, coffee and a tinned fruit cocktail is a rip off.
Also, the room looked like it was first furnished in the 1950's and hasn't been updated since.
The staff were brilliant and really made this stay a good one. They firstly helped me with the wifi password as I couldnt seem to make it work! They opened the bar so I could buy a drink for the room and gave me a pint glass.
Later when I ordered a takeaway they were great again, offering cutlery and to phone the room when the delivery arrived.
