"Awesome hotel! The whole hotel is so beautiful, and all of the staff was so friendly and helpful. We loved that there were restaurants and the onsen and spa on site so we were able to relax without even leaving the property if we wanted. Everything was clean and well maintained and all of the restaurants were delicious! I would definitely recommend staying here if you get the chance."

"The TEN-YU was an exceptional experience. The staff recieve you as if you just arrived home. The whole ambience is of relaxation and de stressing. Enjoyed a fabulous aromatherapy massage at the onsite AnSpa, which was in the most serene location. The Tepanyaki dinner was something else!! Beautifully prepared starters and delicious cuts of the best Kobe beef. We were able to unwind immediately from a long trip and made it a stay i will never forget!!!"

"Incredible view"

"The location was excellent just a short walk to Moto-Hakone and nearby restaurants. The walk back uphill is definitely doable, but I’d recommend taking a taxi, especially after a long day out. The home itself is tucked away in the mountains, offering a peaceful and private setting. It was beautifully designed and comfortably accommodated our family of six. The sauna and heated pool were a huge bonus and made the stay feel extra special. The host (Lily) was amazing! Our flight was delayed and she offered to pick us up in Odawara. She saved us! Thank you! "

"The hotel is beautiful. Eat ahead of time or else dinner at hotel was about $100 per person and need reservations. However, restaurants in area closed early around 5pm. We ate before arriving at hotel and got to use the onsens privately while others were having dinner. You have to call them for a free 5 minute shuttle from bus stop to hotel. It would be near impossible to walk it and it’s pitch black at night with no lights. Breakfast was delicious, beautiful and filling. Beds were comfortable. Room for family of 4 was very spacious. We were happy to spend some family time in the room. Bring snacks and a deck of cards to enjoy in sitting area. Free shuttle to train station where we took bullet train to our next stop."

"This hotel was good-hearted and the food was Japanese artistry. It is an older property and has a very “mountain lodge” kind of feel. The food was interesting but challenging for an unadventurous North American eater. It goes well beyond sushi to escargot and tiny octopi (squids?) over cucumber and a miso sauce. I was impressed with the look of this but I am weak on seafood and so it wasn’t that easy to eat. I expect that it is very seasonal and probably changes to make sure the food is the freshest. The hotel itself is very high up the mountain, with a few walking trails nearby but no other. The hotsprings older facilities but again, overall very nice. It is very close to the bus stop, where the bus comes often from Hakone Yumoto station to Lake Ashinoko and back so that is convenient."
