Loved the hotel and it's surroundings and the room was spacious, clean and attractive as was the rest of the hotel. Our biggest problem was that we had NO hot water during the whole of our stay which was terrible as we had just driven over 600 miles to get there from the north of Scotland and we were attending a wedding! we couldn't wash our hair or shower unless we did it in freezing cold water!! The staff were helpful but couldn't fix anything. Our loo seat was loose also and despite reporting it, it stayed that way. We found the staff pleasant and they tried to be helpful. Nevertheless the lack of hot water was a very serious concern to us.

5/5 Excellent

Overall room was v good. However had to point out that I had booked a twin room not a double so we were moved to correct type of room Only criticism we have is staff could have been a little more friendly. Not enough happy faces!!

We were very disappointed with the accomodation provided. I accept that we paid a relatively low price but we could have had a perfectly plain but tidy Premier Inn/Travellodge for about the same cost. As it was, this hotel, and our room (no.7) in particular, was very "tired". It did seem clean but I doubt it had been freshened up for many years. There were stains on the carpet/chair, a loose phone socket, lino curling up in the bathroom, loose and well worn bath panel, a toilet seat that neither fitted nor would stay up (not male friendly!), very noisy floors, a large gap around the room door, a fire door directly outside our room which didn't "soft close" and, therefore, banged very loudly until very late. The room shown on the web site, which had clearly been modernised, bore no resemblance to the room we were allocated. We were asked on check out if everything had been satisfactory and we told them of our disgust. The response was "sorry to hear that". This was certainly not a 3 star hotel by any stretch of the imagination and we are extremely disappointed that Expedia does not appear to recognise this. You will see from my account that we recently returned from a stay in a very prestigious hotel in Athens and whilst we obviously did not expect the same standard we DID expect much better from you. We used this hotel because it was close to the venue of a wedding we were attending and because you offered it. I await your response with interest.

4/5 Good

Convenient location. Bedroom on the small side and a bit dated, but it's an old hotel and in pleasant surroundings. Very nice conservatory for breakfast.
