The hotel staff were generally helpful, including the tours/trips organiser (Fiona) but some of the evening staff not so good. Breakfast was decent overall but predictable. Cleanliness was excellent but there are 13 floors and one of the two lifts was constantly out of action during our week’s stay despite multiple attempts to fix it. Our TV also had no English channels working and even when fixed was limited to BBC and Al Jazeera news - not that we wanted to watch TV much but a bit surprising for a country where English is a national language and there are so many British visitors. The position is convenient even if on a side street and the access to the waterfront pool area is good. It’s located within a couple of minutes walking of bus stops with multiple frequent local buses into Valletta and also the Sliema ferry terminal. Overall a really decent base for sightseeing but just needs some more attention to detail and customer service.

The rooms were spacius and the bathroom was superb. Hotel was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. View could have been better, but then you pay extra for that. The breakfast was excellent, however the hotel suffers from this as it is always very busy, and in although the dining area looks spacious when empty, when its busy it is hard to move around and the backs of the seats knock together. But overal superb and cant be beaten on value.

Perfect spot for base in Sliema. Just on side street off main drag this ST hotel offers all the same comforts as the other hotels in this group. I had the quietest room which was fab. Same great breakfast which despite number of guests was extremely well organised and stocked. I love the ST group hotels and very much enjoy staying in ST hotels. Highly recommend. This ti,e I also used pass to Aqua Luna seafront pool club which was amazing. First class location, waiter service and the best food I have had in Sliema. ST hotels are my no1 choice for Sliema. Sliema is also the best base for seeing round Malta.

The hotel is very clean & modern and the room is spacious & nice. The staff are all friendly and kind especially Milena who is so helpful & kind :). I loved the outdoor pool - Lido - so much for sun-bedding, reading, swimming & napping :). Also, the breakfast is awesome as well. I will definitely come back here when I visit to Malta again.

Nice hotel good location
The hotel is very nice and appears to have been recently built. Staff are attentive and cleaning of the rooms is good. Buffet breakfast is of good quality. The pool facilities are very nice and we enjoyed them very much. I do imagine they could be very busy in the summer though. Frequent buses outside the hotel to Valletta, including a night bus until 2am. Our room was a little bit loud and sound proofing against the outdoors could have been better. Overall a good stay, would visit again.

We were crammed like sardines for breakfast- it was insanely overwhelming. We even went on the ‘off hours’ for breakfast. I have travelled all over the world and never had a run in with bed bugs- but I did at this hotel. My sheet covering the mattress had slipped off and I saw a mound of bed bugs. We left the hotel. I spent the rest of my vacation scratching my arm. I have never left a bad review for a hotel, but I would never stay here again.

Lovely stay - watch out for the mattresses!
Everything was perfect aside from our double bed actually being two mattresses, this may have been mentioned on the booking but we expected a double bed - we kept falling in between the mattresses!

Great hotel great value
This is a great place to stay. It's about 15m up a sidestreet so no noisy traffic. Its got 176 rooms (we counted them on the lift sign) so it's not a small hotel . Its part of a chain of ST hotels and you can see them from this one. If you google maps you'll see its just off the coast road . You can walk to the sea in about 1 minute or less. There is no swimming pool though. The pictures you see on line are off aswimming pool but if you look at the other ST hotels they all have the same pictures of the pool. Its actually a shared pool. We went in December so never went swimming as it was too cold so never even saw the pool either. The rooms are all clean and tidy. The ceuling needed painting as it was just bare concrete but it may have been part of the look maybe. The bathroom was perfecrly clean everywhere and the bed shown on the picture is a double but actually 2 singles pushed together. Breakfast is awsome , full cooked english breakfast with continental and everything else you could possibly wish for. Its a buffet style , so help yourself. We paid £184 for 2 people for 5 nights in December, including breakfast. The hotel arranged transfer at 20 euros from airport (25 after midnight), which we thought was good value. Definitely go to popeye Village, its a great way to spend 3hours and 14 each entrance fee. Busses are 2 euros per person for 2hours travel. Just give your cash to the driver and get the ticket. You can use this ticket on any bus until your 2 hours runs out.

The Hotel is nice and room was good. Strange the ceiling was not painted but not a problem. My main problem, is that the Hotel does not have the swimming pool in the pictures on Hotels.com. Instead the pictures advertised are part of a club 5 minutes walk away from the hotel but this is not specified in the hotel details. There is free access to this club for hotel guests. Hence I was quite disappointed as I would not have picked this hotel had I know this.

great stay, comfortable beds good bathroom, ok breakfast. they have a tour guide rep in the lobby (wouldn’t recommend not worth the money google maps will give you better info) and the pool isn't connected to the hotel but is round the corner and is shared by multiple hotels still free thought. I would totally recommend the hotel to anyone. Great bang for your buck and near to all the amazing views of the old town.

This hotel is on a convenient location, has a friendly and helpful staff, and has nice perks like locker room and an agreement with a pool nearby. So far so good, but… - the water pressure was weak most of the week; - the gym stank of mould, voiding its use; - and the breakfast… although it had good food and staff… it was always a deafening experience, as the screeching of the wooden chair legs on the floor tiles made for a very unpleasant and definitely not relaxing experience. Can the manager please visit the local DYI store and buy some felt covers for the chairs and easily fix this issue? Otherwise a great little hotel :)

Great hotel close to bus stop “Ponsonby “ helpful to go to central valletta and also Buses To airport direct TD2 or X2. The buses are a bit chaotic at Moment but overall good service. If going to Gozo by bus and then catch ferry from cirkewwa ferry. ( bus 222 would be great if it ever comes !otherwise aim to catch from Valletta central bus station more bus options. Breakfast was v good here good selection wish they could be open from 630am. Was v clean staff v friendly and helpful.

Good position
The Hotel was in great position to acess everything. The excess to the Lido, 2 minutes walk away a bonus. Room was good, housekeeping a little hit and miss. Things that need sorting - the bedroom doors need some sort of soft close. They are so heavy people let go and they slam. This is not good when that starts at 7am when you want to relax. Breakfast is OK, accept for coffee which is very bitter and freeze dried out of a machine. The juice is so watered down its berely juice. Real shame in a med class hotel. Staff were great in sorting bits when needed.

New hotel in good location
Strategically good location, smiling staff, great pool 100m away. Plenty of dining options nearby of all tastes and price ranges including bars with long happy hours. Room was spacious, bathroom too, bed is big with a bit soft mattress (but OK). 10-15 minutes quiet walk from ferry to Valletta. The only downside is the breakfast.

The room was ok, but the hotel is super noisy. It feels like it’s a hotel for party people. Also de surroundings are not very nice, if you don’t reserve parking with advance it will be imposible to find around the hotel. We stayed at the floor above the dining area and we could hear the chairs moving all day long.

Good stay
We stayed at Azur for 7 days on holiday with my cousin and her partner. We found the rooms very clean and to have everything we needed in them. Breakfast was also very good every day, and they are accurate in advising about the busy period. It is worth noting that the pool is separate to the hotel, across the road. However, we found this to be better as in some cases pools are neglected but this pool was very well looked after, had great facilities, and a full bar and restaurant. The hotel is in a great location to visit Malta. We had a great stay overall.

This was a fine hotel, if you're looking for something convenient with basic amenities. The free breakfast was a madhouse and the food was sub-par, but I appreciated the offering nonetheless. The location was excellent and convenient, with easy access to the ferry to Valletta, as well as close to buses to the Valletta and the airport. It might be helpful to note that the pool pictured isn't on the premises - it's a shared pool a short walk from the hotel. Many hotels in the area share access to the pool, so can get quite crowded (but it's an essential visit when it can get so hot during the day!).

Overall the experience was pleasant however a couple of things worth noting. The pool in the pictures is not situated in the hotel, it’s a separate building about 200m away across the main road. You get free tickets to access this however it’s shared between other hotels and the general public. Overall cleanliness was average, towels are stained and pillows are a bit old. Staff however were great, very responsive and helpful.

Lovely hotel. Really good location. The hotel doesn’t have its own pool. This isn’t unusual for this location and you have access to the pool across the road. We were there in half term and still managed to get a sun bed every day so don’t let it put you off. Breakfast was good, room a good size with hairdryer, tv with Netflix, nice sized balcony and good amount of plug sockets (UK plugs so no need to take an adaptor) For what we paid, really pleased with this hotel as a good base

Water drain broken, water leaking everywhere. The staff didn’t offer a room change.

Exceptional value.
We spent 4 nights at the Azur. It was of exceptional value. The breakfast was delicious with many great food options. Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was well appointed. When we return Malta we will certainly stay there again.
