The hotel is okay. I have been going to Keylime Cove for many years and it 8s slightly declining. The rooms were not as clean and are getting a little worn. They probably need an update of the room and services. I did like the shuttle service to Great America though. The kids had fun.
Positive--nice location, friendly staff, free Internet (still not offered in all business-catering hotels)
Negative--Arrived 1-2 hours prior to published check-in time. Other area hotels have a room for such an occasion or dispatch someone to prepare one. I was told to come back in an hour or so.
When we stay here, we enjoy watching the Blackhawks if they are playing. Again, as opposed to other area hotels I've visited, the game was not available in the room, only in the bar (Comcast Sports Network?)
We needed a place close to the Naval Base, so we could meet friends for graduation. We were
close, and our room was very nice. Quiet and warm, it was very rainy during our stay, but it
didn't dampen our visit at all. We'll definitely will book there again.
We went to do some Christmas shopping and the hotel was so convenient! It was directly across the street. The staff was wonderful. We got in at 9:30 in the morning and stopped at the hotel to get our bearings. We realized that check in wasn't until 3:00. The staff member on duty said that we could check in then if we wanted to as he had some rooms already to go. That was great! We were able to get our luggage out of the car and then proceed to the mall to do our shopping. The breakfast they provided was pretty good too. Lots of variety. Would definitely stay again.
My 18 year old daughter and I stayed for the weekend to attend a nearby event. The hotel was very clean, staff was friendly. Our double queen room was more spacious than most others. The beds were very comfy so we both slept well. The only disappointment was that there was a pool but no hot tub. Unfortunately for us it was the hot tub we were in need of. We would definitely stay there again.
Waukegan, eight miles south of the Wisconsin border, hosts the historic Genesee Theatre, stopping point for touring Broadway shows, comedians, and musical acts. Directly on the border, Gurnee is home to the theme park Six Flags Great America and to the popular indoor outlet mall Gurnee Mills.
