Inn on the Beach
10/10 Excellent
"Super clean, comfy beds and towels-Felt spa-like. They provide beach equipment, chairs and umbrellas, and towels, which makes life so easy. The staff are friendly and helpful. The location is perfect for the beach and walking to restaurants and shopping. No kids allowed which did not impact us, but just letting folks know, as it was not in the Expedia description. Parking is limited, but they will help if you do not get a spot and have to pay on the street. "
DIRECTLY ON BEACH - ST PETE BEACH PASS-A-GRILLE - Awesome Sunsets from Balcony
10/10 Excellent
"Communication with Gloria was excellent! Check-in was super easy! PROS: location, location, location. Beach access is simple and while the beach was busy on the weekend, weekdays we felt like the beach was ours! Next door is The Brass Monkey Bar and Grill and our meals there were excellent! Also next to the condos is Paradise Sweets, an ice cream/coffee shop. Their Key Lime ice cream is the best, you must try it! We are able to walk to The Wharf restaurant, and their food was also excellent. Freebee van rides are great, you only pay tips. But they only take you so far, but they are very friendly and helpful. By sure to download the Freebee app! Back to the condo, it is furnished with all you need. The beach chairs and umbrella were a life saver, we used them everyday. The shower had the best pressure I've ever experienced. It's almost assaulting (in an aggressive masseuse kind of way).CONS: There is currently not a proper grocery store in Pass-a-Grille. There was a Publix but it burnt down in May 2025 and there is litigation pending, so it may be a while before it's rebuilt. We had to take a Lyft to South Pasadena to do some grocery shopping. The condo has vertical blinds, which is in the same room as the Murphy bed/living room. That made me very uncomfortable as you can still see in through the closed blinds from the outside hallway. It would have been nice to get instructions for the tv. We struggled with the remote all week, but not a big deal."
Residence Inn by Marriott St. Petersburg Tierra Verde
10/10 Excellent
"Pros: Excellent property with amazing staff all around. Top tier breakfast. Breathtaking views of sunrise/sunset from the rooftop. Very all inclusive feel with amentities offered. VERY secure. Key card access required to even enter floors with guest rooms within elevator.
Cons: Minor agitation with housekeeping. Nothing crazy but it did feel like the 'refresh' done on our room every 2 days left something to be desired. The last refresh let me know I was right in my thinking because it was done right the last time. Maybe just one employee not meeting standard but it did stand out against an otherwise great stay. They charge $12 for parking per night. While they are transparent about this; they have a very large car park and I am of the opinion that a single car should be allowed per paying room.
Would absolutely stay again. Try the crab cakes at Vista. They are delicious. "
St. Pete beaches are popular, but it’s often challenging to find sand in the area without a hotel in the background. Try this location for a hotel-free beach day.
Why not spend a lazy afternoon at Eckerd College Beach during your trip to St. Petersburg? Attend a baseball game or simply enjoy the lively bars while you're in the area.
