Overall a business hotel with sterile environment and the basics covered. Shower in Deluxe room much too small, toiletries good. Very good breakfast but poor coffee. Overall would recommend with reservations.

"Comfortable, clean and cosy but check roomservice"
Lovely hotel. Sadly, our room was right next to the health club so it was very noisy during certain hours. Also, since I am disabled I used room service a lot. On each and every order there was something missing - getting very frustrating. But otherwise it was a nice break.
Pros: Pleasant and helpful staff. Secure car park. Close to town.
Cons: I stayed for 2 nights in a single room facing the road, hence it was noisey when the double glazed window was open and during peak traffic flows some noise passed through the closed window. Despite being delicious, the full English breakfast was not as generous as other hotels that I have recently stayed in. The room was very small, about 6 feet across and 9 feet long, hence there was no room for cupboards, therefore it is not suited for a longer stay. Better to book a double room if one is available and you don't mind spending about 30-40% more.
Stayed for 2 nights over a busy Bank Holiday w/e. Very comfortable room with lovely duvet and excellent pillows (not those awful man made filled ones!).
Great bathroom, lovely shower, lights in bathroom are turned on by movement. Very large 'walk in' wardrobe.
Booked a quiet room, overlooked the car park, but despite it being a really busy bar/restaurant, was very very quiet.
Had 2 evening meals, good quality, nicely presented.
Breakfast was scheduled from 9,.30am but the staff came in early to serve us the full breakfast for 8.15.
Staff welcomed us all with ages ranging from 8 yrs to 75 and a of varying abilities. They made son's birthday special and having the grounds to run around in was a bonus. The food was lovely and our family room spacious.
A special thank you to Debbie for a cheerful and helpful breakfast service.
Stayed here for one night whilst visiting friends, was a little apprehensive following mixed reviews on TripAdvisor however upon arrival I was pleasently surprised! Really lovely pub, showed to our room which was huge for the two of us with an extra bedroom! Bathroom could do with a little updating and the room was a little dusty in places however, all felt in keeping with quaint, cottage feel of the room and the staff in the evening and breakfast made up for everything!
The rooms are the end of the pub garden. The pub is at the rougher end of the spectrum, but the twin room we had did the job. Check in at the bar, which was busy at 7pm on a Friday night. We didn't wait long and got shown to the room. It's basic, but it was basically cheaper than a cab home. Be realistic. If you're paying this little for a room you're not going to get high end toiletries and plush soft furnishings. It was clean, there was tea and coffee making bits and a moderate shower. I'd stay there again.
Guildford is a hotbed of history, performance art, and culture in southeast England. The final resting place of Lewis Carroll, this Surrey town was home to his family and provided inspiration for the “Alice in Wonderland” author. Outdoor markets draw weekend crowds and a monthly farmers market features the best in local produce. Guided garden and mansion tours are also popular with visitors.
