Stayed here on business trip. Lovely helpful reception staff. Room cold, towel rail took hours to warm up. Bed lumpy and not aired. Room in furthest reaches of hotel and under a walkway so footsteps heard long into the night and early morning.
Had bar snack as I had missed restaurant, food took ages to come but it was tasty. Breakfast nice, again staff lovely. I would stay agin but preferably not same room!
Very comfortable stay in a room worthy of an upmarket hotel. Bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. Fab shower with organic toiletries provided and all very clean. Good breakfast and we had a salad lunch that was really good.
A real find - definitely recommend.
Staff welcomed us all with ages ranging from 8 yrs to 75 and a of varying abilities. They made son's birthday special and having the grounds to run around in was a bonus. The food was lovely and our family room spacious.
A special thank you to Debbie for a cheerful and helpful breakfast service.
We were welcomed into the hotel. Receptionist was very friendly.
Room was very small and breakfast was charged £20 extra for the 2 of us. I do think that the hotel wasn't cheap- breakfast should e included, especially as there was no separate dining room. It was served in the lobby.
We checked in quickly and were escorted to our room. It had good facilities but the walls were a bit bashed. Bathroom was very cold but this was quickly solved by a hot shower. Shower was fine. Dripping tap needed new washer but did not bother us at all. Beds were warm and fine. DIY breakfast in room with mini fridge was excellent. We were not hurried out and it all went extremely well. Good place for drinks before we went out too.
We will stay here again.
Setting and feeling are great, just need to have handyman to keep stuff working and not falling off the walls. Cleaner could do with paying more attention to detail. Otherwise friendly place to stay and convenient to town and country
Guildford is a hotbed of history, performance art, and culture in southeast England. The final resting place of Lewis Carroll, this Surrey town was home to his family and provided inspiration for the “Alice in Wonderland” author. Outdoor markets draw weekend crowds and a monthly farmers market features the best in local produce. Guided garden and mansion tours are also popular with visitors.
