It was clean and the rental company was great at communicating via the VRBO app.If you read reviews more closely than you read listings, you need an all-wheel or 4-wheel drive vehicle to make it up the driveway!!! The host was very prompt with communication and helpful. There were a couple things we did not like about the cabin. The biggest being the driveway. It goes from asphalt to rutted rock to concrete. Even with 4x4 it is a rough ride. With as much as is invested in the property, a few thousand more and the driveway could be finished. The second is the road noise from the interstate. Has everything you need and more. The property manager was great with communication. The only con I guess you would say is that the driveway is very steep and it had rained the past few days before our arrival making it a rough trek up it. The property manager did reach out to make us aware of this and said we would need a 4 wheel drive vehicle to make it up the driveway, we did in fact have a 4 wheel drive vehicle so we had no issues. Key pad wasn’t working properly but was able to get the key from the key box , front screen door , the screen was coming apart , missing a knife from the knife set , gas logs didn’t work, downstairs was on the colder side , the living room tv only worked half the time, the guest bed in the upstairs room had part of the frame hanging down . The water pressure was very low , over all it was still a nice place to stay just a few minor things that didn’t keep us from having a good time ##### David S. It was very clean and has plenty of room but we could only stay one of the two nights we had booked because it was making us have headaches and making our nose stop up because the mothball smell was so strong. My family and I really enjoyed this cabin. It was exactly what we expected after reading the description and looking through reviews. They are not kidding when they say the driveway is steep, but for my family that added to the attraction. I would say if there’s any type of inclement weather, whether that is snow or rain, a four-wheel-drive would be needed. We were able to get up the driveway with our front wheel drive SUV, but our weather was beautiful while we were there. We loved our stay! We definitely will look at this property again if we’re back in the area. The property manager was very attentive and answered all questions in a very timely manner.I read a couple reviews that stated the cabin smelled like mothballs or musty. I did NOT smell any mothballs or musty smells. I would recommend this beautiful cabin in the woods too my friends and family members!Only recommendations I could make- would be a few more kid friendly activities in the kids bedroom and maybe a few more cookware items in the kitchen. They have basic cookware. Skillet, small saucepan, some small baking sheets. ##### Angel E. Stayed 3 nights in Nov 2024 ### 2/10 Terrible #### Robert W. 31 Dec 2023 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, location #### Book somewhere else This is a trip we planned with my in-laws because my FIL has Parkinson’s & he soon won’t be able to travel anymore. We did not purchase travel insurance & I wish we would have because the owners were not understanding of our situation. We requested to reschedule our dates the day before our check in because my husband came down with COVID on Xmas & his uncle had passed on Xmas Eve. We almost decided to cancel the trip altogether (regardless of losing money) but my husbands aunt encouraged us to go because she did not want us to miss out on this trip with his dad. There were plenty of dates open in Jan and Feb for a reschedule but the owners said no. Pros & cons of the cabin itself: Pros -Very clean & well stocked with towels, linens and kitchenware -Spacious and plenty of room to spread out -Bottom bedroom has kid things like a tent & games -Washer & dryer were available Cons -The listing does warn about the driveway, but without a 4 wheel drive it’s tremendously difficult to get up the hill. The driveway needs regrading. -The mothball smell was overwhelming. Moth balls typically contain naphthalene which is a carcinogen. -The bottom bedroom is much colder than the rest of the house. My daughter couldn’t sleep down there it was so cold. -The hot water heater needs adjusting. Every shower was luke warm & miserable. -The downstairs shower wasn’t working properly which the property manager told us about & said it would be fixed but wasn’t. ##### Robert W.
