Beautiful Hotel , Excelent rooms.

Pros: Love the rooms, the space , the housekeeping service , the 24 hour option for room service , most of the staff understand english, very clean !
Cons: the waitress look overwored and tired , need to alternate they staff so they don't get so tired.The food at the buffet repeats too much the same menu

A tired hotel

Pros: The breakfast was Ok and the staff were friendly-ish.
Cons: The Hotel needs reinvigoration
Location: We found the Hotel was not really close to anything touristy.
I was very underwhelmed by this Hotel. We apparently got a room upgrade (I would hate to see what our original room was like). There were watermarks and cracking on the walls, the furnishings had the veneer peeling away from them in places and the handle for the cupboard in which the minibar was kept was broken. Basically I got the impression that this, once upon a time, may have been a nice Hotel (albeit quirky in terms of some of the furnishings, room set-up, insect theme of prints on the walls etc) but has just been allowed to fall into disrepair and now presents as shabby and tired. I am not usually a complainer but I was seriously disappointed. There was a brochure in the room that set out all the Tulip brand of Hotels. There are the Tulip Inns (3 stars), the Golden Tulip Hotels (4 stars) and the Royal Tulips - which are supposed to be 5 star and top of the brand. Based on the Royal Tulip in Guangzhou I would not book another Tulip Hotel and will revert to the more well known and trusted brands.

Far away from downtown.

Our first room was supposed to be a non smoking room when we checked in, it reeked of cigarettes. We asked for a second room, the key didn't work and we waited in the hall way with our luggage for about 20 minutes waiting for them to fix the lock. No apologies were offered. It wasn't a good start and a good impression.

Not that great experience

Pros: Nothing
Cons: Staffs need to be more collaborative and attentive.
Location: Far from places
When we first check in, the reception staffs are not collaborative. They are not helping each other and did not greet customers well. Waited for a while to be served and we check in our original booking room and it smells terrible of cigarette. Then they do not have other similar rooms for us as the hotel was fully booked and we need to pay an extra RMB208 for upgrade. In total we paid RMB908, we should have a little extra to stay in a 5 star hotel in the CBD area. While checking out, we waited 15 minutes to be served by the reception. I would only rate this hotel a 2.5 star.

Bad stay

Very bad stay .... Worst Aircondition .... Always at 27 degrees even after rooms being changed 3 times.... Had lived in this hotel earlier but this time the service was a big let down
