The hotel was good but the staff did not speak a word of English. They did not have the corresponding room available so we were upgraded

A nice stay, would go back.
Good value from the money. The purpose of this trip was to the Canton Fair, and we had just a short walk to get to the subway, which was perfect. Rooms were very clean. Sadly, the breakfast buffet is pale in comparaison to other nice hotels in China in term of food selection and abundance... that constructive critic may push the management to do better in that area.

This hotel doesn't support WIFI access very well, but the location of Hotel is quiet good, close to Sun Yat Sen Park.

I booked a Full Size bed and received two twins instead. Then they switched me to another room after I informed them of the issue, but the new room only had a horrible box spring, which we had to sleep on after a long day of sight seeing. Don’t book this hotel. 🙁

Everything was great except the beds are really hard like sleeping on wood I sleep on a firm mattress at home but this would be like sleeping on the floor. The hotel and staff are nice but I could not endure the beds again. Most beds are hard in China been going there 20 years but this was the worst.

Good overall stay
Old 5 star hotel in good condition. Provide all the amenity you need in room. Gave me the Memorial park view I asked for. Close to the MRT.. just not a station on Line 1. In the more quite part of the city centre yet 1km walk to Beijing Road

Nice hotel and convenient location
Smokers are everywhere in the hotel and the central AC doesn’t work, it makes air quality really bad. We were like second hand smoking all three weeks. I would not go back again.

Well it's a government Hotel, u pay for water and lacks basic facilities like Gym, swimming Pool, I stayed for a week and had to change rooms thrice.. same rooms different floors depending on their convenience.. not a great experience..

A pretty good hotel
We checked in a room facing Sun Yat-Sin memorial hall. The view was very nice and comfortable. We had a chance eating in the hotel restaurant. Foods were pretty good. The breakfast buffet were mainly supplied with Chinese foods which were Ok with us. One thing like to mention that unlike the other hotels, there was no spare toilet paper in the bathroom. The toilet paper they supplied was quite small which was easily empty. We had two incidents to call the front desk to deliver a new toilet paper to our room.

I was not impressed with the room. It's musky and have a heavy smell of smoke. The carpet and the sofa have stains on it. The shower head is broken. I definitely will not stay here again.

Nice location and clean hotel.
The room is getting old. You can see in the bathroom and carpet. Overall, they still keep everythjing is pretty clean. The room itself is large.

Great price, great location, great stay!
It was a great hotel, and we snatched it at a great price! It's located 1-3 stops away from ALL the main eateries and shopping area's, and is very convenient. There's Sun Yat Sen Memorial nearby which is great to take a look around, and to relax in the gardens. Would definitely stay here again. Only complaint is that the bed was a little small.

Nothing much in that area
It was very hot in summer so the walking towards train station becomes long. There isn't much around the area and we couldn't find a convenience store around the hotel. Rather worn and not the type of 4 stars hotel you expect.

Our stay in Guanzhou - Guangdong hotel
Stop over to UK. Wifi unsatisfactory. swimming pool and massage not available. Little English spoken. Room clean abut beds VERY hard. Good shopping at Beijing Road and metro service is excellent. Impressed that our western graffiti vandalism isn't evident. Kudos to China for this. Chinese people friendly and welcoming.

Close to metro
Good that they offer free upgrade - changing it to a double bed for us. But the bed isnt that strong indeed. It does emit unavoidable sounds and seems to be shaky at night. The bath tube was too small for a bath. But quite close to the metro. Quite good value for money.
