Great location in the historic center of town. It close to the plaza, bus station, bars and restaurants. Very clean rooms and friendly staff. I enjoyed my stay.

Lots of art on the walls. The aircon unit didn't heat, so the room was cold and the placement blew air to the head of the bed.

Hermoso hotel
Loved everything about this hotel! From the decor to the amazing staff! Located in the historic zone walking distance from beautiful churches and delicious food! Definitely will return when in Leon.

Very good central location. Management was very professional and helpful. The only problem I came across was that the floors were dirty. They really need to scrub the floors. That would make this a good place to stay.

Save your money and go somewhere else
The hotel staff was lazy. the room smelled really bad because the koi fish right In front. There was no hot water and when it worked it was limited. The shower drain was always cover because the smell from the sever would go through. The WiFi didn’t work because I was on a corner room. The tv worked when it wanted to. When I ask about the tv, the shower and the WiFi The staff would get weird. The area didn’t feel safe.

Good location, reasonable price
Good moderately priced hotel with adequate facilities. Minimalist - some bottled water in the rooms would be nice. Front desk staff were helpful but English was not their strong point. We had to leave before the complimentary breakfast and early morning coffee or juice would have been thoughtful. I'd stay again for the location.

Terrible smell
The hotel had terrible sewage and mold smell. We could not stay due to an asthma attack triggered by the mold. The hotel staff was very unhelpful.

good location
The staff was great but the room smell funny. It hard to discribe. It was was a good location with in walking distance of shopping centers. Just watch out for the hot dogs in the area. I had to see a doctor.

Pet Friendly, yes. Pet conveniences, No.
Although the Hotel was pet friendly, there was no grass area to take the dog. The four block walk to the park resulted in grass areas being fenced off. Our dog became most uncomfortable having been trained to only use grass areas. The parking area for the car was a block and a half from the hotel and the little grass growing along side the buildings between the course gravel was the only relief our dog could get.

Beautif getway!
Lovely place! Love the art and location is perfect! Room is rather dark since no windows but there are frosted openings on the doors that do help a bit. The customer service is excellent and the breakfast is light, yet delightful. I would return again but would request a room with more light and a window if possible.

Hotel Monte Leon
Stayed for 2 nights. Enjoyed the art gallery. The staff were very helpful, and tried to communicate with us in English. They made a great dinner suggestion and called taxis when we needed. The hotel was quaint and conveniently located to the central plaza. Easy walk.

Small friendly hotel in convenient location
My husband and I were very pleased with this hotel. Our room was very nicely appointed with a large-screen TV, two large beds, modern furnishings and nice warm water in the shower. This pet-friendly room was complete with dog dish and dog bed! Although we were unable to partake of the complimentary breakfast because of our early morning flight, it appeared to be generous and fresh as noted from those who ordered room service (we didn't know to do so!). The staff were very helpful and friendly and Spanish speaking......no English that I heard. An added bonus...the hotel is just 3 short blocks from the beautiful square with its manicured trees and lawn and many outdoor restaurants. In spite of the location in the city center, it is exceptionally quiet and a peaceful respite.

Nice Hotel with a Great location. Unfortunately we got one of the small rooms #10 & it was a bit difficult moving around for the 2 of us & our luggage. Otherwise it was Perfect. Believe her name was Anna at the front desk. Most Helpful!!!

Doesn't smell like a rose!
Open the door to a cute lobby with a very friendly receptionist, she had all of our info ready to be filled out for our stay and greeted us by name. Rooms were very nice, dark because of no windows but comfortable. Lack of water pressure, hot water in the evening and a smell that can only be from a sewer, queered our stay. Even leaving the aircondishioner running couldn't get rid of the smell. Had thought we may stay 2 nights but couldn't tolerate the odour. Our receptionist directed us to a new little restaurant 2 1/2 blocks away called Entre Rio, tucked away, tiny, but the most marvellous meal we had on our entire trip.

Very cute boutique hotel, lovely art on the walls, our room was nice, beds comfy, bathroom nice but hot water minimal. Found a dead cockroach in the bathroom but you can find those anywhere. The reall disappointing thing of the hotel it smelt like sewer gas. Very nauseating !! Young lady at the hotel directed us to a restaurant down the street...it was amazing, the whole dining experience was delightful...and the food amazing

Had a great stay (2 days, 1 night); extremely friendly and helpful staff; great remodelling (you should see the building next door, which is what this hotel looked like before the remodel). Wonderfully comfortable room, beds, microwave/kitchen supplies, huge shower, thick towels, great breakfast included - loved it and highly recommend staying here. Plus, the price was very reasonable.

Excellent hotel but no allowances for bad weather.
This small hotel is newly renovated and the interior is quite impressive, -with well carried out boutique hotel facilities. Our room was very well appointed, with all the facilities, but the hot water was quite a struggle. This was also the case for the other room our family occupied. The restaurant is very small but does have a nice, but very limited, breakfast menu. This restaurant area looks like the typical 'Continental Breakfast' space of a small hotel/motel,-with the typically limited staff. On our first day we had cold weather with heavy rain and we decided that venturing out for dinner was not a good idea. The downpour was so heavy that the water was dripping into the public corridor, -obviously the central skylight was not designed for this severe weather. We did not expect, (were not told), that the tiny restaurant also served a dinner menu, -which was unfortunate. We certainly would have made use of this facility. The hotel is conveniently located on a small, quiet, street close to the city centre. We found the staff to be both courteous and quite helpful. Had it not been for the weather I'm sure we would have enjoyed our stay.

Great value for the area!
This was by far the nicest, upscale-feeling hotel we found in the area, and you simply cannot beat the price (which included breakfast!)!. The art gallery was a nice touch. You can walk to the historic center, and there are plenty of other worthwhile walkable places. The "Oruga", the public transpo bus line that runs along the city's main artery, is within walking distance (about 2-3 blocks?). The only downside = we are two female coworkers sharing a room, and we weren't aware that one of the beds would be twin size, AND, if you are sharing with someone other than a close friend or family who you are totally comfortable with know this - the bathroom doors offer little privacy! We learned this after the fact, and I guess it brought us closer together? lol.

The room it's small. The staff is friendly and the actual hotel is like 3 blocks from the historic center. I didn't like that they don't change the towels from day to day. And there was no elevator, so my husband has to carry our luggage to the second floor.

Inexpensive hotel with good location
I spent most of my available tile at the main square, churches and museums. The hotel was a great location and I could easily walk there in the mornings and lay in the evening. The continental breakfast was excellent. Do not expect it to be ready by 7 am. All of the staff were very helpful including the owner. This hotel would have been all fives for me if the water pressure was more than a grip.

Service is very friendly, hospitable and efficient. Rooms are clean. Location is very good - short walking distance to historic downtown. Overall ambience was peaceful and quiet. A great place to find some rest. Things that could be improved: the hotel does not have a parking lot of its own; and at certain times during the day the shower did not have hot water.

5 Stars for Monte Leon!
After an absolutely horrible flight experience, Monte leon was a refreshing stay. A beautiful building with wonderful room. The staff was very agreeable and on top of everything. The Hotel owner has spend time in the states, so if you are looking for a hotel with english speaking staff I would recommend this hotel. My trip to Mexico was soured by the terrible treatment from aeromexico airlines, however, Monte leon was a wonderful experience and I encourage everyone to check it out. Very affordable, extremely well kept and a wonderful caring staff. Please check it out, you wont regret it.

HAY CALIDEZ en el trato personal de la recepción, sin embargo la habitación no contaba con la cobija que decía la pagina, tampoco tenía el receptáculo del jabón en la bañera, y lo más importante agua caliente ( y no es porque me bañe con agua caliente), sino porque después de una buena empapada, se requiere de un buen baño con agua caliente.
