Great location, nice hotel, friendly staff.

Great location, nice hotel, friendly staff. However, there fixed windows look out to the interior patio and there is no fresh air provided to the room. It is expensive.

Excellent hotel, excellent location

Posted 17-Feb-2017
Pros: Location. Friendly Helpful Staff. Room Quality. Full Breakfast.
Location: Central location makes walking around town very easy. Tons of restaurants within short walk. Mariachi bands and street performers all closeby.
I picked this hotel because of the good reviews and also I liked the central location near the Jardin de la Union, Teatro Juarez, with a ton of restaurants of all types and prices within walking distance. Also, the funicular to La Piplia monument is about a 2 minute walk. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful, our room was spacious with a large bathroom, very comfortable firm beds, A/C worked perfectly, and housekeeping cleaned daily. Full breakfast (American or Mexican) with eggs, ham, bacon, frest fruit and juice and coffee was very convenient as well as very tasty! Also the layout of the hotel is unique and interesting... and a terrace on the 3rd floor for relaxing with a good view of the town.

Sweet Locale, Close to Jardin

Posted 03-Feb-2017
Pros: The intuitive, efficient service and the rooftop terrace.
Cons: The "inner rooms" felt cold and modern to us, but we understand that some people like that.
Location: The location is right near the jardin with it's activities and restaurants and you can walk to the nearby theatres, museums, shops, and university.
We spent four days at Hotel Edelmira in Guanajuato near Christmas, following a week in San Miguel de Allende. The hotel is modern, and our first room felt too sleek for our taste, so the management moved us (with no penalty) to a smaller room with a balcony at the front of the hotel. While the street noise could be heard at night, the arched doorway and tall windows that opened on to the street filled us with joy. Our hotel stay included breakfast each morning, and it was a full breakfast served graciously in a modern comfortable dining room. The staff was uniformly helpful and intuitive about our needs, thereby "skating over" the fact that we did have a very comprehensive Spanish vocabulary. The best part of the hotel for us was the discovery of the beautiful rooftop terrace. We used the terrace for several hours each day to catch up on some neglected correspondence. Servers took care to efficiently bring us delicious food and drinks, although we were sometimes the only people up there enjoying the 180 degree view of the colorful city during the day.

Great hotel and staff, absolutely best location

Posted 02-Feb-2017
Pros: Location, staff, elegance
Cons: hmm, nothing I can think of
Location: Right on the edge of Jardin de la Union, walkable to almost every main attraction in Guanajuato. And easy to find, especially at night.
This hotel is less than 2 minutes from Jardin de la Union, but surprisingly is in a quiet spot (just around the corner). Check in and check out were great and efficient, the whole staff was pleasant and helpful all the time. It's an upscale hotel, but it does not have a normal hotel feel, as the rooms twist and turn around so I was in a little hallway as the only room (halfway up and down from the elevator). Breakfast was a great (free) addition - assorted juices and fruits, yogurt, granola, cereals, rolls, and several cooked to order options.

In town but quiet.

Excellent room. Very comfortable bed. Extremely clean. Staff was very courteous. And the Spanish Colonial Town is one of the most entrancing I've ever visited. A truly remarkable sight that more people should know about and visit. I felt as if I were back in the 15th century but with a modern-day flaire!

Great hotel; bad TV

Posted 05-Dec-2016
The hotel was great is every aspect and is in a really good location. The pool was like a giant hot tub! The only bad thing is that the TV had only two English channels: a televangelist channel and Fox News. And both of those were very staticky. But who need TV in Mexico?

Buena opción para conocer la ciudad.

Posted 16-Nov-2016
Pros: Servicio, decoración.
Cons: Estacionamiento.
