This is the best hotel to stay at.

The location of this hotel is as good as it gets. It is just a few steps from the main plaza where all of the action is. The last time that I went to Guanajuato, I stayed at one of the hotels right on the main plaza and it was just a bit too loud since the festive singing and bands continue well into the evening. This is a very lively town with great bars and superb restaurants. It is a romantic place with lots of history. This is a university town so there are lots of youth, making the town lively at night. The Edelmira hotel is a touch of class with modern amenities situated in the thick of the historical city center. After a day of strolling on cobble stone streets and seeing ancient sites, it's quite a treat to relax in a Boutique Hotel. The breakfast was good. If you are a light sleeper, I would not suggest that you stay in the room with the balcony a we did. I do not mind a little noise, but there are plenty of late night youth carrying about on the streets. Finally, I'd like to add that this is a safe town for late night strolling. There are police cruising around and at no time did we see any fights, or belligerence, or sketchy people in the area. Enjoy!
