Very old hotel needs lots of work
Staff was friendly. Free breakfast was not that bad. Although they used Tang for the orange juice which was very disappointing. The floor we stayed on had the worst musty smell from the carpet. Looks like they've had it since 1980's. The room size was pretty small but the bathroom was a nice size. It had a tub and a shower area. The beds were pretty comfortable but they need to change the comforters. Those were really old too. The room took forever to get cold. It was warm most of the night. Only to find out they had been working on the coolers and didn't turn it on until early evening. Even at that, it wasn't quite cool during the next day. Also, the room didn't have curtains. Only wooden blinds so we ended up waking up at 7 because it was too bright to sleep in. Elevator conditions inside were pretty bad too. Lobby area was nice but the pool needed to be painted...desperately. We had free hot springs vouchers too but when we got there they said their jacuzzi was broken and the hot water wasn't working either. So the only thing we could use was the shower. A cold one. Obviously we didn't use it. Overall, I'm glad it was a one night stay, I can't imagine staying a longer period of time in those room conditions. The smell of musty mold was pretty disgusting everytime we came up the elevator and into the hallway of our room. Wouldn't not recommend to anyone. I believe it could be a lot better if they cleaned it up more. New Paint, new carpet, and new bedsheets wouldn't hurt.
