Overall I was sorely disappointed in the Hotel Santa Fe. It is in need of some serious renovations and upgrades. Basic cleanliness was suspect as well, as things are so old (carpet, fixtures, bedding) that you can't really tell if it's clean.
The online pictures are obviously professionally done and possibly from when it first opened. The phones throughout the hotel weren't working when I first arrived but I thought "ok, no big deal, they'll be working in a day or two." When I left ten days later they were still inoperable and I don't think they planned on fixing them anytime soon.
You had to ask for towels for your room, as one of the ladies casually mentioned they were "short" on towels at the hotel. I don't get that at all. Go buy more!
The pool is nice but it's old. They host parties and weddings at the pool and you find out it's closed when you show up. No notice or a flyer taped in the eleveator - nothing.
The one saving grace is everyone who works there is super nice and friendly. I stayed the whole ten days because of Chinese New Year and everything else was booked. If my wife had been with me, we'd definitely had to have gone elsewhere, price be damned.
