Just OK

Posted 18-May-2017
Pros: Location and friendly staff were the highlights for my stay!
Cons: Get rid of all the reserved parking in the underground parking areas. I recommend the beach access "trail" be paved and lighted for safety.
Location: If you like high end shopping, this is the part of the island you want to be on. Many restaurants and shopping are within 5 minutes drive from hotel.
The place looks like it must have been a grand resort back in the day. Staff was excellent, and accommodating. Location is excellent. Hallways have a strong musty smell that greets you as the elevator door opens to your floor. Room was just ok. The beach view would have been better if not overlooking a public beach access and parking in the adjacent lot. Locals got a little rowdy at times after dark. Restaurant offered buffet meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner that was pretty pricey but comparable to other restaurants in that part of the island. Positives: They do offer military discounts on meals for active duty and retired military at the hotel and they have a California Pizza also located on the premises which is not too bad if you don't feel like venturing out. Parking can be an issue for those of you who bring a rental car. Spots fill up starting around 5pm for the supper crowd so get back early if you can.

There was mold all over the bathroom. The ac filter looked like it had never been cleaned or replaced. The shower curtain was worn and ripped. The shower head was busted. Lots of verdigris on sink and toilet. Heavy dust on vanity.

Good location. Beachfront & accessible by shuttle.

Hope they: 1. give bottled water on a daily basis instead of on the 1st day only 2. have regular maintenance of their a/c. Ours dripped and we had to call for them to fix it.

Pay the extra $ and stay at the other hotel.

Couldn't find my reservation when booking through Expedia holding up myself as well as the guests behind me. Toilet didn't flush. Shower didn't drain and had an old leaking faucet that flooded the floor. Hotel remodeled exterior but is now lacking on the comfort in the rooms. For the price, stay at the other one.

Decent Hotel.

Pros: Room size.
Cons: Needs some renovation.
Location: Perfect location. Everything from restaurants, bars and shopping is nearby.
No problems with staff friendliness. The room, the elevators and hallways are dated. The a/c blower in our room was making noise and maintenance fixed it by applying WD40. The toilet in our room would intermittently act up and the water would keep running because the flapper valve in the tank wouldn't always seal. Fiddling with the flush lever or the in-tank flapper valve would fix it. Had to do it twice during our 5-day stay.

A family stay-cation

The lobby was beautiful and staff nice but rooms are in gross need of updating, carpet was stained and beds so uncomfortable we barely slept. The buffet breakfast was terrible we should have left and eaten elsewhere. The pool was basic and clean but no shade anywhere. Cute little kids play area.

Great location

The hotel was a good hotel. We were on vacation and didn't spend much time in the hotel but it was good to always come back to clean room, friendly staff, and no issues with the room. The buffet is a tad expensive but there are plenty of restaurants in the area.

Best place to the beach as an individual truest.

It's not luxuarious but comfortable. The location is perfect to acsses to anywhere, but the hotel is old, so its condition wasn't perfect. The elevator didn't work well, no valet parking any more, no clerks offered their help without my asking. No greeting from them. Otherwise, you can stay in comfortable. I suggest they sould offer upper grade rooms in regular price.

Unfortunately this hotel seriously need to renovate the rooms as they are showing major signs of deterioration. The hose and the shower head were leaking, the clothe line was not working, the sliding door to the balcony barely locked, the carpet had stained, and the marble deco on the floor inside the elevator was broken. The hotel has its own unique features. It is close to the beach and within walking distance to the shops and restaurants.
