We found the location was just perfect! Being in a central area and being able to walk everywhere and see all the beautiful historic buildings was great!

Everything was quite nice esp.the friendly staff.It was quite noisy all day long.Hard to sleep at night.Plus the mattresses need to be replaced. Too thin and lumpy. Hurt my back and hips. I had to use a blanket under me to make bed softer.Overall rhe hostel is very good.

Good place to meet people but not clean
Place is a wonderful for meeting people. They have a lot of activities. However they only had one working sink for the men. The showers were dirty and bathroom wasn’t clean. Also at night there was a mosquito bite

The staff were very friendly and answered a lot of my questions about Guadalajara. Most everyone was very friendly. My bunk mate was out drinking to 2am on a Wednesday night, and then slept in until checkout time (12). There’s lots of opportunities to socialize. And I appreciated them letting me store my bags until I came later to pick them up. The one suggestion I would offer is to do bathroom and common area cleanup after 12. They started mopping the floors and cleaning at 11am. Which is a kinda chaotic time as many are showering and packing. The staff was friendly, but it did seem to add to the business by trying to clean at the same time that people are leaving.

The first week was mostly quiet and uneventful. I renewed for a second week on Orbitz. Right when the second week started the hostel went crazy. A girl tested positive for covid and she was allowed to stay in the dorm which had no social distancing. I asked one of the staff if they had told the other guests in the dorm and he said no it would cause chaos. It's absolutely unconscionable to subject other guests to such a health risk without their knowledge. Additionally, on multiple occasions people were smoking weed inside the living room of the hostel. I don't really care if people smoke or not but no one should be forced to have to smell it. Thirdly, there was an old guy that came and hung out at the hostel all the time but wasn't a guest. He apparently had a history of epilepsy and one day had a seizure in the kitchen. The seizure could be described as tonic clonic which means it goes on for a lengthy period of time. Such a seizure can cause permanent damage. The hostel failed to call an ambulance and continue to let this guy hang out in the hostel. I was tempted to tell other guests that this girl had covid but it's a very fine line disclosing somebody else's medical issues.

We know that you probably made this evaluation because we denied you to extend your stay, sorry but it was you who violated the Hostel regulations, in fact we already reported you in Expedia (Orbitz) because more than 5 guests complained about your disrespectful and aggressive behavior during your stay. What you say is not true so we don't have to clarify anything (everything is absurd: the story of the covid, people smoking in the living room, the ambulance), Its unnecessary to lie like this, fortunately all the other comments and the reputation gained in 15 years speak how really the atmosphere and services of the hostel are. amazing staff and comfortable rooms. five stars
i need more than five stars for this place. not only is it in a beautiful central part of town, but the building itself feels historic. the rooms are clean and have floor to ceiling windows which open up onto the street. the beds and pillows are comfy too. that being said, what really sets this place apart are the staff. i stayed here during the COVID pandemic and they really went above and beyond to make us feel safe and comfortable. i made a mistke with my booking on Expedia and they helped me sort it out. i ended up speaking with the owner of the hostel who was incredibly gracious and gave me a private room and a free night. i've stayed in a lot of hostels and this easily ranks up there as one of the best. highly recommend, can't beat it for the price.

This place was amazing!!! The staff was so friendly and helpful and the people that stayed here were incredible. I met so many cool people. They do events at the hostel and it creates an amazing dynamic that everyone is friends. I would 100% stay here again!!

It's fantastic if you've got a couple days to check out Guadalajara centro. Location and price cannot be beat for the superior room - clean, recently remodeled, comfy bed, private bathroom and balcony just a stone's throw from the cathedral. This room is in another building owned by the property across the street, so privacy was great. Hostel staff were pleasant, I didn't really have a lot of interaction with them besides checking in and out. The breakfast is extremely basic, but my tip would be to buy fixings from a store and take advantage of the bread and toaster to make sandwiches. You get a decently sized small fridge in the room as well, so that's another great convenience.

I liked the central location, it was waking distance to all the places I wanted to go... the continental breakfast was really nice... I would definitely go back and recommend this hostel... I wished they could install AC because the rooms would get a little warm...Also they should have entry cards to access the street entrance instead of the buzzers...

Great place to base in Guadalajara.
Outstanding location to access downtown, public transportation, & organize trips. Staff was extremely helpful. Breakfast was simple, but more than aedequate. Great value.

Great, homey feel!
I am stayed here for a month and met so many wonderful people. I got to know the staff who were always warm, friendly and helpful! Room was clean, had comfortable beds with bedding, towels and the bathroom was also always clean. A great location right in the centro. 2 blocks to the cathedral and super close to Mercado San Juan and museums.

, Unfortunately my money is stolen from my private room ,inside the safety box I said the staff but he did not accept and told me that your special password is not acceptable when safety box is opened by special key that is with staff WE went to my room and he opened safety box with his key and then locked but that opened with my password Then he has nothing to tell me . This was first time that my money is stolen from my room Then recommend to all that do not stay in this hostel or do not leave money or other valuable things in your room,

Hello, It struck us your comment. The security of our guests is a very important issue, that´s why we have a safe-deposit box in every private room with a combination lock. The staff has no access to these boxes. We hope you are doing well and found the money in your luggage.

Affordable Private Room in Historical District
I stayed in the other building where the private rooms and suites are located. I really like it for its quiet. There are outdoor areas to hang out as well as a small community kitchen. You are free to go over to the main hostel where the dorm rooms located along with a big community room and a tv room as well as where you eat your free Continental breakfast. There is a computer with Internet access for those without a smart phone. Free Wifi for those with smart phones or personal laptops/I-pads. I like that this hostel is close to many sights, restaurants and plazas in the historical district. There are many pedestrian friendly streets and so many easy to read tourist info signs and maps. The staff at this hostel are friendly and helpful.

Great Stay!
We stayed two nights in the Cuaron room, king bed, private bathroom. The suites are across the street from the dormitory rooms. Our room had super high ceilings and a mural of Cuaron’s movie “gravity”. The hotel is in the historic center, close to museums and sites. The room was very clean, lots of room, good water pressure. Some lovely details were a terrace for relaxing, a communal kitchen and free water (so we could fill up our water bottles and didn’t have to buy and accumulate plastic bottles). We arrived late, at midnight. I emailed the hotel and the staff arranged to check us in after 11pm. Really love the Hostel Hospedarte Centro and highly recommend it.

Cozy and quiet
The hotel is actually around the corner from the hostel and it means lugging up your bags up the stairs twice, once at the office to register and then up the stairs at the hotel itself. Nevertheless the room itself is decent and quiet. The tv cable modem had to be rebooted - another trip up and down steps to inform them - and the resulting program set-up more complex than necessary. (I tend to be a Luddite.) But I guess you have to expect that a big city like GDL demands an equally imposing TV system. The hostel breakfast was modest but adequate and the main benefit was the people you meet there. Very interesting ones. Got a great map of centre city.

Centre of Guadalajara
Hostel is in the historical centre of Gualalajara. There is always something to see in the plazas any time of the day or week. You could eat conveniently and healthy on the street food. Breakfast was enjoyable with fresh fruit, cereal, granola, toast, tea and coffee, every morning. Lots of convenient safe drinking water. For me it was also close to IMAC the language school where I took Spanish lessons. It is an excellent school with a good strategy to move people to speak spanish. Also close to subway train stops, so if you want to go further afield there was good connections. Also lots of activity suggestions that can keep you busy for a few days. For the party crowd there was also night clubs in the area.

Superior service
The whole staff at Hospedarte Centro makes you feel at home, among friends, like at home when your are away from home. The girls: Estela, Erika and Cuca keep this place spotless and are always around ready to provide you with anything you may need like extra linens or kitchen help . The guys: Roberto, Nico and Alex have always the right answer from arrival to departure. The whole group are professional and respectful, they are the kind of people that enjoy their job and go the extra mile to make your Guadalajara experience memorable. After having stayed at several other hotels, I consider Hospedarte my preferred location for future visits and an excellent referral for anyone that wants an affordable, yet top class accommodation. Very pleased and happy to come back to them!

A decent hostel in a boring neighborhood
If you need to be near the historical sites like the excellent art museum in the Hospicio Cabañas, this place is convenient; otherwise, I recommend the other Hospedarte hostel near Chapultepec Ave. The private suite in this one is much larger than in that one (including a larger desk you can actually use for working on a laptop), and the bed was slightly less uncomfortable, but the atmosphere in Chapultepec is so much more fun and sociable, and the walls and fixtures are in a better state of repair than in Centro. My only complaint is there was no closet or even just hangars to use for clothes, a weird oversight considering how much extra room was available for an armoire.

Great Experience!
Professional, friendly, comfortable and very private. This was my experience at the private room that I had in my recent vacation. Reliable internet and cable TV, with very convenient kitchen facilities. Great place that makes you feel at home. Staff always willing to help.
