The renovations (since it was known as the Sir Francis Drake) created a very nice and pleasant atmosphere. Noise level on the Powell Street-side was relatively high due to a combination of the trollies and late-night conversations/shouting in the street. Otherwise, the stay was fantastic. Note: I unexpectedly ended up extending my stay and was moved to another room. The noise was not an issue at all on the Union Square facing side of the hotel.

Great location, good-sized rooms, pretty clean, comfortable bed. The bathroom was pretty big, but there are no counters; the sink is very small, and there's no space for my makeup or facial products.
The area has many restaurant choices, within walking distance of shopping centers.

Room was very nice and clean but the pillows are like small mountains, they are so big and uncomfortable. Did not get any sleep due to the noisy fan in the bathroom that can’t be turned off.
