The room was clean and the bathroom was pretty new which was nice. However... music was thumping so loudly from the dining area, it felt like the walls were vibrating! On top of this, the windows aren’t double glazed so there’s no way to block out the sound. I went to front desk to say I had to be up early so could I be moved to a different room, the response I got was that the music would stop around 10:30 and then they’d all be going, so they wouldn’t move me. Basically, deal with it. Going back to the windows, as they’re very old and thin, being on the ground floor and having them open didn’t seem like a safe option when the outside area is open to people. Literally anyone could open my window, which just made me feel uncomfortable. As I couldn’t open the windows I decided to put the air con on (because another thing to know - this hotel is hot!), but what do you know, even though we’re paying £130+ per night, there is no air con!!! Just a crappy (and seriously dusty) fan on the wall, which of course did zero to cool us down. Breakfast was a joke. I saw the menu, thought it sounded great. The reality is a cooked breakfast, a variety pack cereal, or toast. I see fruit on the menu, I think fresh fruit salad like most other hotels - nope, it’s half a grapefruit (which FYI, a lot of people can’t even eat due to medication!). I see savoury muffins & waffles on the menu, but they were nowhere in sight. If you want a quiet, relaxing, money-well-spent hotel. Don’t book this.

While i can’t claim it’s a five star luxury hotel due to lack of a few facilities like AC in the room ( though there was a very well placed fan on the wall ) this is one of the nicest hotels I’ve stayed in in a long time. The staff were it’s biggest strength. Breakfast was one of the best I’ve had in the UK, run by busy but smiling staff and room service was good food at a good price - almost unheard of. It’s right in Blackheath so a very beautiful surrounding with a village feel. I’ve stayed in literally countless hotel and wouldn’t normally comment as they are generally pretty soulless and or corporate.

Lovely old building with big rooms and high ceilings which I much prefer to modern hotels.

Lovely garden behind the hotel, which was a great place to take coffee after breakfast on a sunny day.

Very good location, friendly staff, rooms are good and clean. Lack of table service, especially during day in bar and outside tables. Not a concern for us but people with decreased mobility may appreciate more table service. We were proposed a cot for our 1 year old which was £15/day (the most expensive we have come across), we therefore took our own; after 4 nights we could have bought a cot for £60 (see Ikea)!

The location is fantastic, the amenities need some updating from the staircase to the rooms. The hotel can do better with the TV in the room at least size wise ie the room TV is too small for the size of the room.

Very smart hotel, ideally located for Greenwich, we didn't manage to park in the hotel car park but the nearby roads are free from 7pm sat until Monday morning. We sadly didn't sleep well because a lot of guests were banging doors and shouting throuout the night but that isn't really the hotels fault. The facilities are clean and good, breakfast was fabulous, continental style but with full English buffet style too and made my day as they had vegetarian sausages so I could have a cooked breakfast happily. Staff very friendly especially a couple of ladies in the breakfast room. Would definitely stay again

Traditional family owned hotel. Very pleasant dining room and wait staff are really lovely and helpful. Room was large by London standards. Bathrooms need some updating but otherwise servicable.
