Worst Motel Ever

The room was very dirty. Sheets had debris on them! Cobwebs in corners. Chair so stained and dirty, there is no way I would sit on it or put my belongings on it. One bed had a blanket, the other did not. Bed was as comfortable as sleeping on a boulder. Room next door had a broken front window that was boarded up with cardboard. I felt like a needed a good shower after leaving. On a side note, the breakfast area is kept pretty clean.

i enjoyed the stay. it was a nice, clean and convenient to the hospital. Would stay there again.

Was frightened and appalled by first impression

Pros: nothing
Cons: all of it.....tear it down and build a new hotel
Location: Despite our first impression of the area, Greenville is a nice area with a lot of amenities and things to do.
Check in time was 3pm. We arrived at 250pm and was told that the room was not ready. The hotel was obviously not overbooked. Came back around 415pm and checked in. Room was very dated, the sitting chair was worn and stained.- No way I was sitting in it. We were only given 2 sets of towels in the bathroom. I went to front desk to ask for another 2 sets and was told that someone would bring more when the towels were done being laundered.(who does not have ample towels at a hotel?)While there in the lobby, there was police activity in the lobby and there were people smoking and loitering in front of our room and peering in through the windows- mind you the rooms are to be smoke free- Needless to say, this was the first impression of both the hotel and the general Greenville area. We immediately decided to check out. All this occurred within 10 minutes. I went back to the front desk to ask to cancel reservation and was told I had to do so through Expedia. I went back to room and made other reservations at another hotel, but was told that we would be only refunded for 2 out of our 3 nights. Made a formal complaint through Econo Lodges's home office and still am being told that we will not be refunded for the first night as we did check in. Manager sent an email making it sound like she did us a favor in refunding 2 out of the 3 nights we had booked. I will NEVER stay at any Econo Lodge or its affiliates EVER AGAIN!!!!! Do yourself a favor and stay away from this hotel!!

Poorly managed property

Pros: Rooms/bed was clean
Cons: New management
Location: Good restaurants, shopping, things to do.
Premises (outside) clearly neglected, staff and manager not customer service oriented...uncomfortable dealing with guests, problems, special requests. Was not a good experience. Left the hotel within couple hours after arrival. Due to some unruly guest in adjacent rooms (drinking, vomiting, breaking bear bottles in parking lot), I felt unsafe. Management and staff did not respond to the problem even after I requested help. And Kim (manager) charged me for 1 night stay, despite my departure.

Nasty chair
