"Excellent hotel with character and friendly staff"
This is a beautiful hotel - feels like you're staying in a house, not a hotel. Beautiful old building with a lovely garden. The staff are friendly and outstanding. The hotel is located in a great part of town near lots of restaurants & bars, and close to downtown Guadalajara (walking distance). We loved this hotel & would definitely stay there again if we returned to Guadalajara.

The staff was very knowledgeable and well cultured and educated. The ambiance is in a class all its own. Proximity to restaurants and nightlife perfect. One of the best sleep I had in a hotel. Loved the high-quality, glass bottles of water given out for free. Loved all the art books that were in Spanish. Pool area is lovely with complimentary lemonade . Gym is adequate with complimentary green apples. Arts abound as well as books. the lighting in the room are amazingly soothing. Loved the thick-glass-top table and comfortably padded benches on the patio. And the shower head with various modes.... all a must-do experience! Loved the service, and breakfast buffet in the cozy place was very well done with freshly squeezed juices.
I was in Guadalajara visiting family and stayed at the Camino Real, the hotel where my parents would always stay during their visits. Such a gem. The hotel is one level, surrounded by beautiful, well kept grounds. I loved that I could open the sliding glass door and sit on the patio to enjoy the early morning or evening. The buffet breakfast under the veranda is a must - fresh tropical fruit and juices, omelets made to order, menudo, chilaquiles...you name it. A wonderful way to start each day. Can't wait to go back.
My experience overall was good but i had a problem. I had to leave early and when i ask the front desk was told it was no problem but when i tried to get a refund for two days that i did not use the hotel denied that i have check out early so i did not get a refund now i have to dispute that with my credit card
The Guadalajara Metropolitan Area is the second most populous in Mexico, behind only Mexico City. Situated in the central region of Jalisco, Guadalajara is a major commercial center, as well as a hub for visitors to Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, and Manzanillo. With its rich cultural heritage, festivals, and vibrant artist community, the city is also a major tourist destination in its own right.
