Nice hotel.in the city centre

Posted 24-Aug-2016
However, not aware the hotel is under major renovation. So some noise which is unavoidable but still acceptable. Disappointed that the hotel staff didn't remind us we have paid for breakfast. Had booked the hotel for a while and we forgot breakfast was included. But the room is very spacious, good for a family of 4.

Staff very helpful.

Posted 23-Aug-2016
Pros: Very helpful staff even though they were busy with check-outs.
Location: A bit of a walk from the City Centre but the bus stop was not far.
Even though the hotel was under renovations we enjoyed our stay. The front desk staff was very helpful in providing us with directions and what attractions to see. The lounge was very comfortable and we stayed there for a couple of hours trying to plan our excursions. Good bar with Costa Coffee.

DATED, but will be very nice once complete

Posted 23-Aug-2016
Location: Near north end of Sauchiehall for great shopping. Marks and Spencer's, Greggs (coffee/tea) nearby Very walkable.
Undergoing rebrand. Lobby very cramped - temporary. Were in unrenovated room, very large and comfortable but outdated. Issue with bathroom....shower/bath had lots of black mould....definitely in need of gutting, expect it will be beautiful when complete. TV didn't work. Took 2 calls to have someone come, and when manager did, was told he would be back shortly and replace tv., but he never came back or followed up. Staff at lobby desk were great in storing our luggage as we arrived before room was available and had to check out before we went to airport.

Posted 22-Aug-2016
Pros: Pretty well everything
Cons: nothing
Location: I was brought up in Glasgow all my life but now live in Toronto so pretty well know my way around the area.
I had a pleasant stay at the Glasgow City hotel location was great with nice staff the only downfall was the the ongoing renovations but did not interfere too much.

In middle of major refurb..

Posted 22-Aug-2016
Pros: Room comfort and staff
Cons: Finish the refurb!
Location: Glasgow is a great cultural city. Take the open top bus tour to get orientated.
Staff trying to cope really well but had the atmosphere and noise of a building site..be nice when its done though. Staff were great. No gym

Good location, brand new renovations

Posted 21-Aug-2016
I thought the service and the hotel were fantastic. There are renovations until the end of Augusr which was the only detractor, because the lobby was totally gutted. There is a brand new pool, the rooms were gorgeous and beds so comfortable. I would stay there again.

central hotel under renovation

Posted 15-Aug-2016
Pros: location, size of bedrooms, comfort
Cons: complete renovations!
Location: great location for city centre, very close to National Piping Centre, Theatre Royal, Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, etc
This hotel is excellently situated for central Glasgow, the rooms are large and the beds comfortable. The bathroom was small but adequate, it is a high step into the bath which has an over bath shower. the shower worked well. I have stayed at this hotel and it has good leisure facilities, unfortunately these were closed throughout our 7 night stay for renovations, the whole hotel is being renovated and resembles a building site as it is being converted to a Doubletree by Hilton, I am sure it will be great when it is finished. There is parking under the hotel which is charged at £7 per night but due to the renovation work many spaces are not available and there is a slow traffic light system in operation. The electronic sign at the entrance said the car park was full but we then discovered the lower level was practically empty - the hotel will reimburse the cost of parking elsewhere over their £7 per night charge.

I enjoyed my stay. The hotel was comfortable. The breakfast good with haggis. The bed comfortable and clean. Construction noise with renovations was my only complaint

Hotel im Ausnahmezustand

Posted 08-Aug-2016
