Convenient location, nice staff

Posted 23-Nov-2017
Great location just by M8, 10 min straight walk to Central Station, tourist bus stop right outside. Nice big twin room but bathroom needs renovating. Good breakfast. Friendly helpful staff. Gym and pool good but female changing rooms need URGENT UPGRADING - tired and filthy. Overall good value for our mini break.

Great hotel for City Centre

Posted 06-Nov-2017
Pros: Bed & Swimming pool
Cons: Attentiveness of staff at breakfast time. Breakfast is ok , However porridge left to go lumpy. Better if Porridge made on request.
Good hotel, Great swimming facilities, Breakfast good but could be improved. Close to the City Centre.

Great spa, grubby rooms.

Posted 30-Oct-2017
Positives: lovely pool with coloured lights and a sauna and steam room were very enjoyable. Gym was great. Breakfast was good and was included in the price. Location, though nothing to do in the immediate area, was easily accessible by the city sightseeing bus and about 10 minutes walk from the central train station. Negatives: The two chairs in our room were worn and very badly stained. One bedside lamp shade also had a huge stain. I reported these immediately at reception and requested for them to be replaced but nothing was done and there was no communication from the hotel about it. I realised later that day that the shower couldn’t get hotter than luke warm. I reported this to the same receptionist and again nothing was done. The beds are old.

Pleasant short break.

Posted 29-Oct-2017
We stayed 2 nights at this hotel which is convenient to reach from Glasgow central railway station. We had a room on the 5th floor large with plenty of storage space huge double bed which was very comfortable to sleep on but pillows were a bit lumpy. Negative points were the carpet badly needs cleaned and the sink was blocked with hair which we discovered when water wasn’t draining away. Positive points breakfast buffet was very good niclely cooked and breakfast staff were very attentive pleasant and friendly. The spa in the hotel was excellent and I would highly recommend having a massage there. This was the most enjoyable part of my stay. I thought it was a very good idea environmentally to offer a free drink each if you chose to forego having your room cleaned and towels changed on first morning. We walked to the Riverside museum and the tall ship from the hotel. The walk takes around 35 minutes and it’s very pleasant and interesting. A visit to the museum and ship is highly recommended. All in all we enjoyed our stay.

Ideal location to city's centre

Posted 16-Oct-2017
Pros: Location and leisure facilities
Cons: Breakfast presentation and layout .
Location: Access to M8 excellent . Walking distance to town and central station
Car parking limited and staff unaware of the restrictions of the independent carpark opposite hotel so you were unsure of whether to leave car overnight as ticket expires At midnightb Room was satisfactory not worth the money paid especially with no breakfast Upgraded to breakfast £8:50 per person not worth the money good satisfactory only . Yogurt and fruit next to hot plate so warm and queue ps very long. The layout of breakfast poor as the hot food quere prevents access to cereal and yogurts .All in all worst breakfast presentation I have seen and eaten in a long time .

Nice hotel - close to the centre of Glasgow

Posted 01-Oct-2017
Pros: The receptio n staff and the spa.
Cons: The food and the waiter called Allan
Location: The location was very good only 10 minutes to walk to the town centre. We did plenty of shopping and had a lovely meal in the town centre.
The hotel was nice. The spa facilities were very good. The reception staff were excellent. The food and the staff in the bar were very disappointing. Especially a waiter called Allan. We had a meal on the first night but never used it the second. The breakfast we had before we left on the third day but it was very disaapointing.
