Nice but needs refurbishment

Posted 22-Feb-2018
Good location close to city centre. Hotel needs updating, it seems more like a 3 than a 4 star at the moment, but it is reasonably priced.

Handy location for city centre and music venues

Posted 19-Feb-2018
Pros: Location.
Cons: Car park is awful, in a dis-used school and (frankly) embarrassing for anyone visiting Glasgow,
Location: Close to motorway, but no problem with traffic news. A short walk to both the city centre for bars and restaurants and also the SECC venues.
Hotel staff very good and breakfast was good, other than a lack of variety in the available cereals.

Had a two night stay and enjoyed every minute of it. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Facilities were great, indoor pool, gym, spa and sauna. Will be back to stay again in the future

Great location and good facilities

Posted 14-Feb-2018
Hotel was only 10 min walk from Glasgow Central station. Perfect for us to explore the local area. Hotel looked a bit dated in areas e.g bathroom and room carpet but room facilities were great and the beds were so comfy! Lovely swimming pool, but the changing rooms let it down badly. They were in a poor state of repair with obvious signs of work needed to bring them up to an acceptable level of a 4 star hotel. Overall we were happy with our stay and would go back.

Not as good as last year

Posted 11-Feb-2018
Pros: The room is comfy and clean
Cons: The breakfast and the cost of our fish and chips at the bar,or a better sized portion
Location: It is a great location for what we needed
Have been to the Hallmark for the last 3yr and was a bit disappointed this year. The breakfast was ok but first morning my fried egg was raw and I mean it was very runny, the sausage was only cooked on one side, the porridge was really nice though. On the Friday night we had fish and chips in the bar, even though was tasty, for £13:95 I would have thought I would have a big bit fish,it looked like it had been cut in half more like a kiddies portion. The room was clean and comfy bed so no problem there. I chose the hallmark this year as enjoyed our stay the last 2 yr and breakfast was really good so don't know what has happened this year. So I am sorry I can't really recommend any friends to stay at your hotel and think we will be staying at another hotel next year.

Disappointed

Posted 05-Feb-2018
Pros: Close to The Hydro Arena & city centre
Cons: Make over
Location: The Hydro Arena & city centre
Allocated Room 305 when we went into the the room . There was a very strong smell of cigarette smoke.& looked like some had been sitting on the bed . (My wife said it could have been a cleaner having sly smoke & sitting on the edge of the bed ) . I went down to reception to inform them they did apologise & would look to get use another room . Then we got another room 216 . We went into room & it was two twin beds I had booked a room with King size Double. Back to reception .They said they would sort it out . We decided to go for our meal . We were still in the same room but they had pulled beds together . Also lack of toiletries no soap & bathroom looks like it needs a refreshing up . To be honest was very disappointed in how hotel looks now Have used this hotel many times When it was called Menzies & now Hallmark seems to be a bit stale now not sure if I would go back .
