Superb Glasgow base

Posted 26-Jan-2016
Pros: Quiet atmosphere, well-appointed room, superb breakfast
Cons: Hotel temperature oppressive, far too warm, needed air conditioning fan on all night at low temperature
Location: Not ideal location, but great for a relaxing stay, with a 20-minute walk or a short taxi ride to city centre
Excellent facilities and service, helpful staff. Quiet atmosphere, well-appointed room, excellent breakfast.

Amazing modern hotel, staff could not have been more helpful and I can't fault it! Would stay there again without hesitation.

Great apart from the weird breakfast set up

Posted 06-Jan-2016
Stayed two nights for the Hogmanay ball. Possibly the best night out I had in 2015 and definitely the best New Year celebration I've been to. Good hotel in every respect but breakfast was odd. Affable staff but sprawling room, 30 deep queue for cooked food, orange juice always empty, strange tea making area with no spoons or teapots or milk jugs, croissants doled out in batches of less than a dozen. I know the guests all appear in the last hour of breakfast at holiday time but the system should work better than this. First world moan I know, but a memorable oddity in an otherwise faultless hotel.

Hilton glasgow

Too many drunks, kept up to all hours, and we had a small child staying with us! Ordered breakfast to room, but it wasn't up to muck

A Glasgow mainstay - ideal for business.

Posted 04-Dec-2015
Pros: Staff
Location: Great central location
Stayed for a business event for first time in ages and it was in great form. Not the most stylish place, but the staff were excellent and standards so high. The recent refurb has really brought it up to date.

Nothing special

Posted 30-Nov-2015
Pros: cleanliness, friendly staff, on site car parking
Cons: A few touches to make you feel you're in a 5 star hotel - better toiletries and refreshments. Definitely free wifi.
Location: the location isn't ideal for shopping and bars but good for the SECC/Science Centre/BBC
I booked this as a 'Secret Deal' and while the hotel was fine, I would not have been happy had I paid the going rate. There was really nothing that set the Hilton apart from a reasonably decent 4 star hotel except the lack of free wifi in the rooms which I thought was a pretty standard offerig these days! The room was ok and clean but the aircon was old, the toiletries were pretty basic and tea and coffe/refreshments were nothing special. I was really glad I hadn't paid for breakfast as the queue was so long we ended up not bothering to wait and we went elsewhere. It's possible that had we paid full price we would have had a better experience but all the standard rooms look pretty similar and the housekeeping trolly didn't seem to have a range of offerings, just the basic ones we had been given. There are definitely better options in Glasgow, especially if you want to be more central for shopping and bars.

Really nice hotel poor customer service

Posted 25-Nov-2015
Our shot stay was nice and comfortable and would stay again but would not use the bar restaurant as the service was not good and the quality of the food was shocking,, never the less we did complain to a member of staff which we had to approach and said the food wasn't up to a satisfactory standard and got a reply sorry and he rushed the plates and food away that was the last we heard about it ,, to get a two course meal it took around two and a half hours to get it served and the bar was very quiet

Good location for shops and theatre

Posted 23-Nov-2015
Theatre/shopping weekend with work colleagues. Two rooms booked at same time, thought we would have been on same floor. Obviously rooms allocated on first come basis, room on 10th floor may have been last room available. Also disappointed hotels have to charge for using car parks.

Cons: The garage is a bit narrow.
The room was spacious, clean, had comfortable bedding and, as situated on the 14th floor, a nice view. Our daughters slept on the sofa bed which was comfortable as well. Even though the hotel is next to a busy road, but our room was very quiet and we had a relaxing stay. The food in the restaurant was delicious.
