Worst Hotel Stay EVER
We arrived at the hotel at 3:45pm, a reasonable amount of time after check in opened that you would expect to be able to head straight up to your room, drop your bags, and go for a walk. Nope, not today! We entered the very spacious foyer to see a queue stretching from the front desk (with only 2 staff on) stretching all the way across the foyer and into the bar. Oh boy, after a long day of travel dramas, we were in for another long wait.
It took just under an hour to get to the front of the queue, where we were then told that we had been booked into a room with just one king sized bed. I had tried to confirm through both expedia and by contacting the hotel that we definitely 100% were going to be in a room with 2 double beds, as that was literally the only reason I booked the hotel. The front desk staff said they would see what they could do, and sent us to the bar for some free drinks and that someone would come and find us once our room was available.
After a couple of drinks each, we figured that no one was going to get us so back into the queue for almost another hour. We eventually gave up on trying to get the room I had booked and accepted their "upgrade" because they didn't understand that a male and female travelling together might not want to share a bed. We were in our room just before 7pm. We also arranged for a late checkout - housekeeping wasn't told and knocked at 8am, 9am, 10:30am and 11:15am (despite the Do Not Disturb sign going out)
