My Favourite Glasgow stopover.

Posted 23-Oct-2016
Cons: Breakfast was great, but staff could be a little more attentive when customers are first seated, each morning I had to ask for a coffee.
I have stayed at this numerous times over the years when it was mangaged by Thistle, now it gets even better with my favourite hotel group Hilton now running the show, the hotel has had extensive makeover and reception, bar and dining areas now looking chic and modern. I had the children with me and we stayed in a lovely twin double bed executive room which has had extensive modernisation recently. Centrally located the hotel is ideal for Theatre, Shopping trips or exploring Glasgow City Centre .

Wonderful :)

Posted 10-Oct-2016
Pros: Staff made our stay great. very helpful. The gym is really nice too.
Cons: Nothing I loved this hotel
Location: Everything nice is within walking distance
Great hotel, upon arrival we where treated with yummy cookies and checked in quickly. The staff where externally friendly and quick with helping out. even when we decided to have a nanny come in and watch our daughter for a couple hours the staff said they would even go and check on our daughter and the setter just to give us peace of mind. The beds are new, hotel rooms smelled great.

Nicely renovated hotel

Posted 07-Oct-2016
Cons: Room was a bit crowded with items (i.e., chair, desk, etc.).
Staff was helpful in helping us get around. Walking distance to most things of interest to a tourist.

Stay there.

Posted 06-Oct-2016
Pros: Everything
Cons: No that would be picky..
Lovely hotel that employs genuinely nice people. Lovely clean pool. Didn't eat there so you are on your own there but if you want a central Glasgow hotel, this is it.

Struggling with refurbishment and image

Posted 30-Sep-2016
Main issue was communication with reception. Forgot to give me breakfast tokens and room phone didn't work. Large queues st reception and expected to wait despite having used mobile to explain problem.Jazz singer belting it out near reception.Deafening. Floor manager was really efficient and apologised sorted everything turning disaster to more pleasant experience.

Comfortable hotel near city centre

Posted 27-Sep-2016
Pros: Location, affordability, comfortable beds and pillows, cleanliness....
Cons: Will be great when upgrading is complete.
Location: Very central to shops. We did the hop on hop off tour....excellent. Many pubs and restaurants nearby.
My husband and I travelled to Scotland from Canada and arrived early in the morning. Understandably our room was not ready but the hotel staff stored our luggage so we could explore downtown. We were also welcome to sit in the lounge/bar area to wait. At 3 sharp we received our room key and got into our very clean and comfortable room. The hotel is undergoing considerable updates so patience is required but workmen are respectful and curtious in trying to stay as much out of your way as possible.

not a good experience.

Posted 25-Sep-2016
Pros: Comfy bed, good breakfast.
Cons: Better shower equipment, Internet in room, more staff on front desk.
Location: Good.
Shower fixtures confusing, didn't drain, overflowed all over the floor. Slow response. No internet in room! Of four calls to desk, only two were picked up. Staff slow to respond but did give a small discount. Only one of two lifts working, slow. Bed very comfy, breakfast very good, staff helpful with directions.

Lovely hotel

Posted 22-Sep-2016
Location: The location was about a 20 minute walk from the main railway station and the stop for the Hop on hop off bus about 5 minutes away. Pubs nearby.
Even though there is upgrading work going on in the hotel,it caused no inconvenience to us. The room was newly renovated, clean and comfortable. . Our only complaint was that the tub/shower was extra high and sloped, so that it was difficult to get in and out of. The breakfast was good with a great variety of dishes.
