Lovely place to stay, great room with everything you need, comfy beds and a breakfast to die for! Very nice and friendly hosts, should we need to stay in the area again we'll definitely be returning here.

Clean and tidy room. Tea and coffee facilities too. Mary and ray are a lovely couple. Close to the seafront with easy parking nearby. I would go back again.

Mary and Ray were extremely welcoming and friendly. Their guest house is immaculate with excellent access to the nearby promenade. Our room was spacious with a comfy double bed, new carpet and view of the sea. The en-suite had a shower and toilet which was very clean and fresh. If I’m being picky, the bath towels were a little on the small side. Breakfast was freshly cooked traditional English with a pot of tea or coffee, toast and fresh orange juice. Delicious. We received recommendations for nearby restaurants for dinner which proved to be as good as advised. Access to and from the guest house was with our own set of keys and we were welcomed with a smile and said goodbye with a hug. Definately recommend this little gem to anyone staying in the area.

Lovely relaxing stay, lovely clean room, met by Ray upon arrival, who couldn't have been more helpful, slept really well and was very quiet...Mary introduced herself and made a delicious breakfast the following morning... great little guest house, great people, highly recommended x

Nice Guest House very close to sea front
Nice Guest House very close to sea front, pier, restaurants and bars. Booked Guest House for horse racing at Great Yarmouth was easy to catch the local sea front train or local bus in town centre a short walk away. Hosts Mary & ray could not do any more for us very friendly and helpful. Looking forward to staying again in the future.

Another wonderful stay
Had a wonderful stay, my partner and I call it home away from home. Been regulars since 2015. Mary and Ray are Brillant host. Warm and friendly environment very clean good breakfast. 8 mins walk from the sea.

Lovely stay. Was met by the host on arrival who checked us in quickly and efficiently. Had a great one night stay in a comfortable room with a sea view. Good location for all the usual seaside attractions and a short walk from some good restaurants on the South Quay. car parking was safe and easy on the side road with no charges, but it may be more hectic in high season though!

Excellent location, a very warm welcome to a lovely hotel very simple and easy checkin and a beautiful room.Couldn't recommend this hotel enough, from arrival our experience here was brilliant. The bed was comfy and room quiet I could hear no outside noise and slept through the night without an issue. Very clean rooms what more could you ask for from a hotel. The owners Ray and Mary Barnes are provided wonderful service, they're extremely helpful, friendly and checked with us a few times during our stay, to make sure everything is fine. The English breakfast was superb.....we will certainly be returning. Many thanks to Mary and Ray Barnes for your service. See you all soon. Best regards, Jenny and Jason

Well looked after by Mary &Ray who were very friendly. The property was excellent with everything you need for a good stay even fresh milk the first evening in the room. Would have liked it the second evening aswell but it didn't matter. It's in a good location close to the sea front and all the amenities. Would gladly stay there again and recommend to others.

Great place to stay not to far to walk for all the entertainment but just enough tout of the way .the owners what a warm welcome I got I loved the little touch when they called to see if I was safe on my journey down I would stay here again when I am working in the area

Very friendly owners, clean & fab brekkie!
We are a couple in our early 30's who booked a very last minute break here. We could not fault the warmth, friendliness and genuine nature of the owners, Mary & Ray who consistently ensured that our needs were met as their guests. Our room was very light, well decorated and most importantly immaculately clean. I would agree with others that the ensuite facilities do perhaps need updating but this a very nitpicking point, it doesn't detract from your stay & I'm aware Mary & Ray are renovating the rooms. The breakfast was very delicious and was comprised of good quality products that were nice and fresh (your scrambled eggs were fab Mary!) The tea & toast was plentiful too. Ray kindly gave us some recommendations over breakfast for places to stop for a drink, have a cream tea etc. The owners clearly know their location & the surrounding areas very well. We will definitely stay again when we get the chance for a little break away. Thank you for a lovely stay.

The host's were really friendly and helpful. I liked the fact that they went out of their way and sent personnel emails to introduce themselves to you and made themselves available for your arrival time. I will be going back with my family in Aug this year and I will definately be recommending this hotel to my family and friends.

Absolutely fantastic stay at Taunton House, Mary and Ray are a really lovely couple, gave us a warm welcome and called to check on our arrival time. Perfectly clean room with lovely decor, comfy bed and lovely sea view. Perfect hot shower. Looking forward to returning.

You won't be disappointed!
Stayed in room 3 which was not huge but perfectly adequate for a short stay. Beautiful room and very clean. Lovely touch having chocolates on arrival. Only downside would be that the ensuite would benefit being refurbished to match the standard of the room.

Ray and Mary the owners could not have been more perfect, so attentive when needed yet giving you the freedom to enjoy and appreciate space and time on your own when you want it. May not be five star but would recommend to anyone. Don't expect luxury The Staunton is what it is, good if not great old fashioned English guest house. Would definitely go back when in Great Yarmouth.

The couple who ran the business were fantastic helpful and polite the breakfast was on point they suggested to us places to eat out which we took up on one and that was a little gem we will be going back when we can as it was a warm and welcoming place to stay.

Just back from 4 nights stay and have to say it was great value for money. Breakfast was excellent every morning and Mary and Ray were excellent hosts. Ray was very good at informing you of places to eat and if you wanted a cream tea, then he was definitely your man! Room we were in was quite small but for all the time we were in it, it was quite adequate. Also free wi-fi was a definite bonus. Would definitely stay here again if we were in the area. Thank you both for a lovely few days in Great Yarmouth.

We stayed for two nights for a short getaway to enjoy the beach and arcades. Mary & Ray who own the B&B were fantastic. They were really warm and welcoming as soon as arriving and really helpful in deciding the best places to go in the area. The hotel room was very nice and I probably had the best nights sleep in the longest time as the bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was delicious. Full English breakfast on both days we had. Would definitely recommend anyone staying in Great Yarmouth to book here. If we could have given more than 5 stars we would have done. Jason & Becky

I really enjoyed my stay, Mary and Ray are excellent host. Taunton Guess house has special personal touch that makes you feel at home when you are away from home. The scamble eggs are brilliant breakfast is really good. Walking distance to shops and restaurants.

Easter weekend break
Taunton House was ideally placed close to the sea front. Mary and Ray were very friendly and welcoming offering tips to local amenities.will definitely recommend to family and friends and would definitely book here again if we're ever in Great Yarmouth again.

Old house transformed into a guest house.
Terrible layout for being an ensuite. The Sink is in the bedroom where you sleep, the shower room is separated from the bedroom with a curtain. The toilet is a very very tiny room within the bedroom.

We had a great stay at taunton grange, Mary and Ray are a lovely couple, who made us most welcome. Our room was very good, very clean and nice modern touches. Breakfast was excellent, and nothing was too much trouble.

Stayed while working on the offshore wind turbines, it's a lovely little guest house and Mary and Ray are lovely. I couldn't be happier with my stay and I won't hesitate to stay again when I am working in Great Yarmouth next year. Thank you

The couple were very friendly, room clean, comfy bed, very basic facilities and no shampoo or shower gel provided. Breakfast was good but 8:30-9 am breakfast serving is a bit early for people on holiday.

No cold water in the shower nor wi-fi connection (or connection extremely slow). Breakfast disappointing as first day we had only jelly not real marmalade. Second day we got it but was disgusting so we missed the jelly. Coffee/tea awful and my psychologist suggested me don't mention the orange juice as I still have nightmares. Tiny TV. The worst part was the cold water as we couldn't have a proper shower. I have to say the staff gave us a verbal invitation for a weekend in off-peak season, but who would like to come back after that experience? sorry not me. Also there isn't shower gel nor shampoo.

A very welcoming couple of hosts and a very nice place to spend the night. Room was extremely good value for money and the view would have been great were it not for the mist which got in the way! Nice breakfast in the morning in a very nice breakfast room. Would have liked to stay longer but were only away for a quick break.

Good Trip
We planned for boat trip in Norfolk and some dayout time in Great Yarnmouth. Nice Place stay. Warm welcome for the hotel team. Felt like being in home. We will definitely visit again, there is more to see around.
