Great access to downtown for a fantastic price!

We found the holiday inn Grand Rapids downtown to meet all our needs. Can't figure out why this is rated a 3 star hotel- staff and facilities are top notch. Our breakfast was fresh, delicious and made to order! Our grandson was greeted each morning at breakfast like a dignitary and Breakfast was served with style. Right across the street from the Gerald Ford museum and Grand Rapids Public museum. A short walk across the river and you are downtown! Quick walk to the children's museum and a 10 minute drive to the John Ball Zoo, Heritage Park neighborhood and the Whitecaps Minor league stadium. We loved every minute of our stay and plan to return!

Short Business Trip

Pros: Nice Hotel close to downtown , river & walking trails
I had business in the area so we got a late check out and my wife walked the town. They were very accomodating

Nice hotel within walking distance of downtown.

Nice rooms. Clean and comfortable. Was able to walk everywhere I wanted to go. Will be back in a few months! Food at Pearl St grill was gross.

Happy overnight downtown

The room worked great for an overnight stay with visit to Devos Performance Hall. It's easily walkable to everything downtown. Room was clean. There was car noise but they provide ear plugs if you need them (and ask for them). All was good.

great stay. I always use this hotel when in Grand Rapids. two things that turned me off a little were the repairs going on / equipment not working (hot tub) and one of the staff at the desk (female) was not very friendly. I understand that a large conference was going on and they were sold out, but not the professional/pleasant person I am used to. I will stay there again in the future though. the good outweighed the bad.

Solid choice for a business trip.

Pros: The lobby and facilities were relatively modern, and the location was convenient.
Cons: I hate to be critical, but the restaurant/cafe downstairs (not the bar) was terrible for lunch.
Location: This is right across the street from the Gerald Ford Museum, if you're into that sort of thing. You're also about a 10-15 min. walk away from brewery
I was visiting Grand Rapids for a business conference, and decided to stay somewhere close to the conference center just over the bridge. When I first checked-in, the room I was assigned had not been cleaned and was still in disarray from the last guest in the room. They apologized and assigned me another room on the 7th floor. The room accommodations were what I'd expect from a 3-star hotel - nothing special, but it got the job done. The only complaint was that, because of the location, there was the constant sound of being right next to the highway. Nothing ear plugs can't fix, but something to consider if you're a light sleeper. Other than that, if I was on a budget I'd certainly stay here again. The cleaning staff and other folks in the hotel were very friendly. The view is actually pretty great as well.

I am so terribly sorry to hear about the mix-up with your original guest room, but glad the front desk was able to straighten it out for you. While we at the Holiday Inn love the sounds of our busy city, we understand that they're not for everyone. The front desk not only has ear plugs for our guests that may be sensitive to noise, but we have white noise machines for our guests to borrow as well!
