Solid choice for a business trip.
I was visiting Grand Rapids for a business conference, and decided to stay somewhere close to the conference center just over the bridge. When I first checked-in, the room I was assigned had not been cleaned and was still in disarray from the last guest in the room.
They apologized and assigned me another room on the 7th floor. The room accommodations were what I'd expect from a 3-star hotel - nothing special, but it got the job done. The only complaint was that, because of the location, there was the constant sound of being right next to the highway. Nothing ear plugs can't fix, but something to consider if you're a light sleeper.
Other than that, if I was on a budget I'd certainly stay here again. The cleaning staff and other folks in the hotel were very friendly. The view is actually pretty great as well.

Thank you for posting your candid review about your stay at the Holiday Inn Grand Rapids Downtown. I am so terribly sorry to hear about the mix-up with your original guest room, but glad the front desk was able to straighten it out for you. While we at the Holiday Inn love the sounds of our busy city, we understand that they're not for everyone. The front desk not only has ear plugs for our guests that may be sensitive to noise, but we have white noise machines for our guests to borrow as well! We hope to see you again the next time you visit Grand Rapids. Safe travels!
