"Great hotel, great staff"
The room was very nice, very spacious. Great view of the valley and ocean below. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the only real complaint I have is that the mattress was thin and the bed wasn't that comfortable. Everything else was outstanding and I would definitely go back again.

"Loved this hotel"
We had a lovely weekend at this new hotel. The young woman at the front desk said the place has been open 3 weeks. Love the retro, laid back feel to the hotel - it's modern and tastefully decorated. Great rooms, great view and great staff. Love how the beach is just below. The view from our room was to die for, the sound of the crashing waves below so melodic and peaceful. One minor thing is that the lower level rooms each lead off the common areas (front desk & restaurant) and voices can be heard if they are loud enough. However, this wasn't too bothersome for us. The hotel's restaurant has a great menu and we enjoyed their cocktails too. Will definitely stay here again.

"Inspiring stay & beautiful setting in Saint Martin"
We had never been to Saint Martin/Sint Maarten before, but were attracted by the descriptions of the French side of the island. Our stay at Privilege Hotel was just the holiday we were looking for. The hotel is located in Anse Marcel, a beautiful and relatively untouched bay at the North of the Island. The hotel overlooks the bay and is located, as other reviews mentioned, a stiff 15 min walk (3 min by car) above the beach. Marie, the proprietor is a wonderful host, who immediately makes you feel at home. The Hotel feels a lot like a guest house in a beautiful setting. A generous continental breakfast is included. The wireless is accessible in the dining area. Marie makes many recommendations for activities on the island and also can make you reservations. Wonderful stay. Highly recommended.

"The most perfect location in St Martin!"
We went to St Martin for our babymoon - didn't plan much at all and just wanted to get away to a sunny and warm location. We were so lucky to have stayed at Bleu Emeraude. First of all, the French side is by far nicer and more relaxed than the Dutch side. The hotel was ideally situated on the most beautiful stretch of beach - Grand Case. In addition, the famous restaurant row was only a quick 10 minute walk. We stayed for 8 days and tried out dozens of local restaurants. For lunch, we loved Captain Frenchy's - you can eat there and use their beach lounge chairs at no cost. It's such a cool vibe and delicious food. We loved that we could walk to the market, buy our own booze, and just bring it on the beach with us - never having to worry about service, waiters, etc. I also bought some basics like eggs and cheese that we could add to our freshly made French croissants in the morning. The coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice were also so pleasant to start the day with. I also loved that the hotel was centrally located to all of the famous beaches, and excursions. We could see Anguilla right from our room! I would highly, highly recommend this hotel if you're considering a trip to St Martin. I also have to mention that our trip was unexpectedly delayed due to the Blizzard in the Northeast - and the hotel staff was happy to arrange for us to stay the extra nights. It was truly such a memorable experience.

"Nice place to stay on a good beach"
We had some difficulty finding the hotel in the dark because our flight was late and luggage was lost. The hotel is a good 45 minute drive (if you know where you are going) from the main airport. Once we found our way we really liked the location and the beach although it is a small beach. We spent some of our days going to the other beaches. The pool is very nice and the staff was friendly

"A little piece of France in the Caribbean"
As much as I want to give a completely positive review of this hotel due to its location, facilities, and several great staff members, there was enough negative here that I felt a need to comment. First of all, this resort is a great place for a relaxing getaway, but not for those interested in getting around and exploring the area without a rental car. Upon arriving, we were welcomed and given a short tour by several of the front desk staff. Very pleasant so far! There are very few options for eating/drinking in the vicinity, but we found those satisfying enough for most of our stay. The beach is quiet (despite some construction) and picturesque. The room was a bit odd for our American tastes, as the toilet in a separate room, and the large bathtub is between the patio and the beds with only a curtain to divide it. It was, however, comfortable and we enjoyed having tea on the balcony to enjoy the view each morning. And the food from the restaurant...well, divine is the only word to describe it. Each meal or dessert from the kitchen was beautiful and delicious. The drinks from one of the bartenders in particular were also wonderful. The downside: the resort staff displayed very little kindness, interest, or care in serving us. The beach, restaurant, and bar staff often acted as though we were lucky to be served at all. I would only recommend this place to fluent French speakers or friends who expect to spend a lot of money without excellent service.

We had a great stay at GCBC. Beach was small, but we never had trouble finding chairs, pool was just redone and was beautiful. Restaurant was decent enough for breakfast and lunch but we went into Grand Case (a .5 mile walk) for dinner most nights. All the staff was excellent. We stayed in a loft studio and even though I enjoyed the loft, I'm not sure I would choose that room type again as the AC didn't reach the loft very well.

Pocket Guide: St. Martin Grand Case Hotels

Considered the restaurant capital of the Caribbean, Grand-Case features more than two dozen eateries on its mile-long main street. The town’s low-slung Creole architecture evokes the feel of France’s other New World possessions, such as New Orleans. Open to the public, the Grand Case Beach Club offers two beaches.
